Snow Closings

Join Our Mailing List

Winter is off to a start! With snow and winter weather closures upon us, we need an update to our snow and inclement weather policy.

We will be following the Federal Government closures.

When the Federal Government is closed, we will be closed.

When the Federal Government has a delayed opening, VCDC will open at noon.

When the Federal Government is open, but with optional teleworking, we will be open regular hours.

Of course, your safety comes first. If you need to reschedule an appointment due to inclement weather, call us at 301-951-0320 or email Mail@VisionTherapyDC.com.

The Federal Government Closures can be found here.

  Blind Man "Sees" With Echolocation

Where does vision happen?
Vision really is all in the brain. This past week's This American Life radio show profiled a man who sees through echolocation, like bats and dolphins. Researchers show that people who echolocate actually are using the visual parts of the brain to map our their space-world, just as sighted people do. Hear the podcast.
All too often, people find our office after suffering for years. If someone you know is struggling with a vision problem, please share this newsletter with them.

Sincerely,

Amanda Zeller Manley, OD, FCOVD &
Mehrnaz Green, OD, FCOVD
