Greetings!
On behalf of the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie, you are invited to the Vital Youth & Young Adult Café on March 1, 2013. You were selected to take part in this conversation" as a result of your community involvement, knowledge and expertise.
We anticipate a highly-interactive, solutions-focused day where we move beyond reporting on youth/young adult issues to engaging young people and community leaders in a creative, forward-thinking conversation.
With 50% of our population under 30-years-old, this is a critical time for our community.
The Café will bring together local 15-30 year-olds with community leaders to discuss youth/young adult issues and perspectives and talk about how these are impacting our young people and our community. Participants will discuss, debate and collectively address new ideas and define - or maybe redefine! - possibilities and solutions in areas such as engagement, entrepreneurship, employment, arts, health, sustainability, accessibility, immigration, inclusion and much more.
The Vital Youth & Young Adult Café follows the production of a Vital Signs Youth & Young Adult report to be launched that day, which combines the results of a public opinion poll (over 700 youth responded) and local, provincial and national statistics.
Your participation is key to the success of the day. As space is limited, please confirm your attendance by Friday February 8. In the event you are not able to attend, please send a designate from your organization that has a pulse on and interest in our youth community.
