Partnership with Keep Virginia Beautiful will raise funds to support Virginia Green.
Virginia Green is promoting the 60th anniversary of Keep Virginia Beautiful and is encouraging all Virginia Green partners to consider "giving 60" minutes of volunteer time to help beautify Virginia. In addition, if your organization decides to join KVB as a "business partner", KVB will donate a portion of the membership feed to support the marketing efforts of the Virginia Green program. Go here for more information.

Virginia Green Suppliers Network working to expand and improve its membership benefits.
Virginia Green suppliers provide products and services to support the greening efforts of the Virginia Green partners.  We are working with the VGSN members to improve lines of communication, increase promotional opportunities, and include VGSN vendors at all workshops and events. If you haven't already, we encourage all VG suppliers to fill out the on-line survey found here.

Virginia Green supports oyster recycling in Richmond.
Rappahannock oyster house serves nearly 2,000 oysters a week. Lemaire serves nearly 500 and Pearl serves nearly 800.  Virginia Green, Virginia Commonwealth University, the City of Richmond, and the Virginia DEQ's Coastal program
have partnered with these restaurants to create a volunteer network that is now collecting these shells so that they can be used for oyster reef restoration in the Chesapeake Bay.  Virginia Green supplier, TFC Recycling, has donated the collection dumpster, and we are hoping to expand the effort soon to other Virginia Green restaurants which serve oysters.
Challenging consumers to Travel Green!
With more than 1400 Virginia Green partners, Virginia is encouraging all consumers to Travel Green. Please help us reach out to organizations in your community. Let us know if you think that your organization would run a simple feature in their newsletter that encourages consumers to become engaged with the program.

3 easy ways to help the environment:
Choose Virginia Green. Give your business to Virginia Green partners while on vacation or in your community.
Referrals. Encourage others to become Virginia Green or refer them to the Virginia Green program.
Give Constructive Feedback. Let partners know that you appreciate their efforts or would like to see them do better.
