August Emmaus Gathering

The August Gathering will be this evening,
Friday, Aug. 5th, at First UMC, 209 W. Spring St., LaGrange, Ind. A Carry-in Supper will be held at 6:30p.m., and a Worship Service at 7:30p.m.
Come and enjoy a wonderful evening of Christian Fellowship. This is open to the public.

Jam Makers & Donations Needed

We are looking for people who are interested in making jam to place in our Sunday welcome bags.

Donations of sugar, pectin, and 1C. Jelly jars
are also needed.

Christian Book Club

Sunday, August 14, 7:00 pm at the home of Leslie Groh, 29760 C.R. 18 W., Elkhart, Phone: 389-1261. Our selection for the month is All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Join us for discussion of this excellent novel.

Evening Circle

Tuesday, August 16, 5:30 pm. Ladies, our annual picnic will be held at our pavilion by the ball diamond this year. Ruthelma Wiseman (742-7102) will be our hostess. Chicken and drinks will be provided. We are asking that you bring food to share and your own table service. Plan to join us for an enjoyable evening of good food and fellowship.

Choir

To all of my loyal and dependable choir members,
and to those who want to make a
"joyful noise unto the Lord";
choir season is beginning again!

We will start practice on August 17. We practice in the sanctuary beginning at 7:15 p.m. We will begin singing on Sundays on September 11. I look forward to filling the Chancel with the voices of those who enjoy singing praises to the Lord.

Reminder

Handbell practice starts on August 31st

and continues each Wednesday from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

in the church sanctuary.

Young at Hearts

On Wed., Sept. 7th, we will be eating Lunch at the Athens Diner, 161 South Main Street(St. Rd. 19), in Nappanee, In. After lunch, those who want to go to Amish Acres, will be attending the 2:00p.m. performance of Fiddler on the Roof, at the Round Barn Theater . Theater Tickets are $22 each, unless you are a season ticket holder. Reservations for the Theater need to be made with Pat Eller by Aug. 15.

Seeking Teachers

Noah's Ark Child Care Ministry is seeking teachers. Please contact Kristin Stauss, Director, at 574-674-4359 for more information.

We are still looking for women of the church to consider being baby rockers in the Noah's Ark Daycare nursery on a rotating volunteer basis.

We are currently at capacity with 8 beautiful infants.

You will need a background check to volunteer at the daycare, however, if you have helped with any of our children's programs at the church, we may already have one on file.
