Kris Palmer
Dr. Palmer made her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall in 2001 as a winner in the Artists International Competition. In eighteenth-century keyboard music, composers used a variety of ornamentation symbols to indicate the numerous types of trills. The appoggiatura trill, main-note trill, grace-note trill, half trill, trilled turn, snap, snapped turn, turn, and even the ascending trill were all in use by wind instrumentalists during this time period. Today, we simply see the ubiquitous little tr sign. Learn the full palette of Baroque and Classical trill effects and how best to apply them when performing the music of Telemann, Bach or Mozart and everything in between. You can read more about Kris by clicking on her photo above which will take you to her website.
Andrea Brachfeld Flutist, composer, arranger, producer, educator, business owner, Andrea Brachfeld, is a graduate of The High School of Music and Art and the Manhattan School of Music.
