Good day to all!
A
s promised last week, I said I would add a few more pictures from my trip to Washington, DC. Holding to my word, here we go.
Lincoln Memorial President Lincoln
Looking over the Reflecting Pool from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument (above)
with the Capitol building beyond in the distance
World War II Memorial World War II Memorial fountain
State of Maine pillar at World War II Memorial US Treasury building
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall of Remembrance, Vietnam Veterans Memorial
(58,000+ names of those who lost their lives)

Arlington National Cemetery - Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Changing of the Guard)
As you can see, Teresa and I had a busy week and I still have so much more to share.
It's that time of year again, when all the Maine rivers reach flood stage, due to the spring rains and run off from the melting winter snow cover. It's an annual event, that businesses and residents anticipate. The last couple of cold nights and the snow, that came after the heavy rains have helped to temper the waters this year. It's not over until the snow pack up North has substantially melted. It's difficult not to forget the floods of 1987, and let's hope we don't see those water levels again for a long time. I understand North Anson had some issues with ice dams and I hope all in that area escaped without extensive damage to property.
Kennebec River, downtown Augusta on 4/16/14 slightly above flood stage
(what you see below the building walls, is the flood water in the parking lot)
Hi Folks! See my new teeth?
Above is a picture of my granddaughter Devi, who will be 9 months old on April 24th. Boy, it makes me want to board a plane and head to India right now! Thanks Leslie for keeping all of us in the loop. It is amazing to see how quickly Devi changes. Bumpa loves you all!
As you all know this coming Sunday is Easter and we are hoping that you will join us. This will be my last Easter at the Dine-ah, as the sale of the Dine-ah is pending. I plan on being there from about 10 am to 2 pm to assist in any way that I can. We are open at 7 am for breakfast and lunch/dinner starts at 11:30 am with the breakfast buffet remaining open til noon. Sherri will be seating you with a smile, right up until 4 pm! We have a full staff, so I should be helping the servers deliver food to the tables and have time to chat with all of you, that have been so loyal over the past 6 years. I'm really excited for Lisa and Ashley! The new energy that they will bring to the Dine-ah and new lounge area will be very welcome.
Great day to all!
