Good day to All!
I hope everyone had a fantastic week, I had a good one, however I feel a little out of touch. Our weekly newsletter is sent out of my G & E Roofing office and responses are received on my Blackberry as well as at the Dine-ah. My Blackberry is connected to our
G & E Roofing network and we went through a conversion last week. I trust the newsletter went out to all, but I only received a fraction of the responses back from you readers. All responses did go to Sherri and, rest assured, you are all in the drawing from last week. The only problem was that I was unable to respond to those of you who wrote. We are back on track for this week. I have been told that many of you did not realize the size of my "adult child" (G & E Roofing). We do have a tendency to fly "under the radar screen" and do what we do very quietly, and that is manage over 50 million square feet of roofing in Maine, as well as new installations and reroofs.
I would like to thank all of you who attended our 6th Birthday Celebration, yesterday October 23rd. We had a great turn out and actually had a short wait for a portion of the night. We had an expanded drawing for those who came into the restaurant yesterday and here is the list of yesterday's winners:

It is my belief that Sherri will be contacting you very soon, so if you see your name listed above, congratulations! Before anybody comments, I would like to acknowledge that all of the winners were either from China, South China or Windsor. The drawings were random and shows that the vast majority of patrons who attended our birthday celebration were locals.
This coming Thursday is Halloween and I am sure that staff will be dressing up. We will also have goodies for the kids, so please stop by and say hi next week on October 31st. Also, from 4 to 6 pm on Halloween, Dude will be at the Augusta Armory for the 92 Moose Free Kid's Halloween Party. If you are in the Augusta area, you may want to swing in.
This past Tuesday and Wednesday, I took a couple of days off and went up north in the Rangley area trapping with a friend. We rode a total of 290 miles, 90% on paper company back roads and had two very memorable days. Thanks Jim, the deer herd will appreciate your efforts.
I would also like to thank my staff, both at the Dine-ah and at G & E Roofing for the cards and the pot luck luncheon in recognition of Bosses Day. It is greatly appreciated and never taken for granted.
For all you Red Sox fans out there, congratulations on a great season. One win under our belts in the World Series and another game tonight. Red Sox Nation is alive and well! Hard to believe there could be such a turn around in only one year. I know some people were upset (not many) when they fired the head coach last year and a new GM came in. Do you think we would have seen such a turn around, if they would have fired the bad boy? Probably not.
Also special thanks to George and Linda Smith who are starting a new series in their weekly travel column called "Let's Do Lunch." We are very honored to be chosen as the first restaurant/diner to be featured. It was a pleasure talking with them both and it will be fun to see what Linda and George have to say. You can read their column on Thursdays in the "What's Happening" section of the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel , Should be out next week and we will provide a link in next weeks newsletter.
