Good day to All!
With the beginning of school, summer is coming to an end. As many of you know, I dedicated this past summer to the China Dine-ah Too and overall, it was a huge success thanks to all of you who came in or talked about it with others. I'm trying to take it easy these next couple of weeks to recharge my battery however, I have as much on my plate today as ever. After closing Dine-ah Too, I have gotten back into my daily routine of carrying around my "portable desk" which consists of a notebook and 15- 20 folders, whatever I'm working on at the time. I will be spending the next week cleaning and closing up Dine-ah Too. I'm working on saying "no" and doing those things I must in order to move the organizations I'm involved with forward.
Next week I hope to have all kinds of interesting facts to share with you, such as, how many chicken baskets did we sell in July and August, to how many ounces of ketchup did we go through over the summer. Yes, that's another massive project I have in front of me. This should be fun, if I can lock myself in a room for three or four days and concentrate on just this. Not sure that will happen, not sure I'll even try!
Playing golf tomorrow in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf Tourney in Belgrade with three of my managers at G & E Roofing. This will give me a good chance to see how things are going from their perspective and also to offer a few words of encouragement, as we go into our fall season. This always proves to be the busiest time of year, after all, everyone wants their commercial roof tight before the winter season.
We are in the middle of our annual support campaign at the KV YMCA in Augusta. I will be jumping into the middle of this soon, making the calls I have been assigned. This year's goal is $200,000. all of which goes to scholarship families for services provided by the YMCA, that they would otherwise be unable to afford. Good stuff.
I'm also involved in making a few calls on behalf of the Friends of Lithgow Library in Augusta. There we are in the middle of a $4 million campaign to renovate the existing library and to add a new expansion.
At some point I will get back to my regular job, whatever that is. And , by next May, I will be getting ready to open up the China Dine-ah Too again. I have a lot of signage inside to complete, along with a few minor changes to the area where we package or plate the food. There is always room for improvement.
By request of many of your readers, please enjoy the following pictures of our new granddaughter and her Mom and Dad. I have Skyped several times but have yet to get my hands on this little gem! Hopefully sometime in October is the latest plan for the family to visit Maine, and Bumpa will be waiting!
