Good day to All!
Twelve days remaining including Labor Day, that is the amount of time that the China Dine-ah Too will remain open until closing for the season. As I reflect, our 2013 season has been a huge success when I look at the "big picture".
First was the completion of the project, which in and of itself was no small feat, given the cost and complexity of goods and services today. Add on the many regulations that we must abide by, and I classify it a a big feat! One thing I do realize is that I probably did not select the best name. Travelers are stopping and wondering just what we are all about, even though the sign does say "Chicken, Seafood and Burgers". Maybe a better name would have been "Chicken and Seafood Snack Attack". Don't be surprised if you see it on the sign next spring!
I'm looking forward to getting back to the China Dine-ah and giving Sherri and Meagan the support that they deserve. These two ladies, with the help of Ryan, Jess and Jean have held down the fort during my absence. They have all done a good job and also feel the effects of a busy summer. A lot of you haven't been back for awhile, the staff and I would love to see you soon. Many, many thanks to all of you who did come in this summer.
The Windsor Fair (our local fair) opens August 25th and runs through September 2nd. Dude the Dine-ah Dog will be appearing Children's Day, Sunday September 1st from 11 am to 2 pm. Here is the link to view the program for fair week
Windsor Fair Program Make sure to join us before or after your fair visit.
Mother Leslie and granddaughter Devi are doing very well, in fact, I'm being told she sleeps for 7 or 8 hours every night at one month old and Leslie has to wake her up in the mornings to feed her. Now, I would call this a happy baby and an even happier mother! Their visit to the US has been moved to October and I am not sure when the return trip will be. What I do know is that I will be on the plane with them, regardless of anything scheduled in my life at the time.
Below is a picture of Bridget Conlogue, our server who was recently in a bad accident. She came into the restaurant to eat and see her fellow co-workers. We are pleased Bridget is doing so well and thank you for all your well wishes.
Below is a recent post on Facebook. We were informed that this is Mitchell Caron of Augusta proudly displaying his Dine-ah t-shirt.
Enjoy this great weather, we should have another couple - three weeks minimum. Wishing you all the best and I hope you have plans for Labor Day that involve family and friends.
I'm looking forward to September 14th which is the Elvin Family Reunion, being held out to our camp in Palermo. Hoping to have 100 family and extended family members attend.
Wishing you all a great week!
