Good day to All! Opening my third business has proven that my plate can get full. I have had little time to do much of anything other than open the China Dine-ah Too with the help of many. I am still managing G & E Roofing and the China Dine-ah at about a 10,000 foot view. In other words, I'm letting others "run the show" while providing support and insight as needed. Thank you Jennifer and staff at G & E Roofing and Sherri & staff at the Dine-ah. This Monday, Meagan, Ryan and staff will be doing a deep cleaning of the kitchen. Although our vendors feel we have the cleanest kitchen around, it is time to empty the kitchen, dismantle equipment as required and pressure wash the entire area, so that it looks almost like new. A little added expense, however well worth it when your name is on the line. Sanitation is paramount in the food service industry and we always want to be known as one of the leaders. Going to cut it short this week and share with you what our friends Steph and Eric Westbye are up to. Below is an email we received from Stephanie and I thought I would share it with all of you. Thank you Stephanie and Eric for thinking of us, what a nice tribute to the entire China Dine-ah family.  Stephanie & Eric Westbye and their new puppy Dude   Dude & his big "brother" Mickey Dude and his favorite toy! Hi Sue...Here are a few pictures of Dude...like a new baby...the camera has been going off non-stop. Norm may have mentioned a little...but we think the world of Norm and the great person he is to this community. One week ago, we had to put down our dear Baxter (a black lab). He was our life and our best friend. We shared such a close bond with him. I knew his time was coming and we knew we had to get a brother for Mickey(our 4 year old yellow lab). When Baxter passed away...we took a day, then the brother search was on. We knew we wanted another black lab pup. I told Norm we would name our next dog Dude in honor of the China Dine-ah (plus it's a cool name for a dog!). So I went to Uncle Henry's magazine, looked through it, then it hit me...there was litter in China Maine and it was near China Dine-ah...I told Eric this was our angel calling us. We immediately went over this past Sunday...and Dude picked us out right away...he was also the one with the biggest paws! It was love at first sight. Mickey loves being the older brother and we are getting used to getting up with a baby. Norm has agreed to be the Godfather and Sherri Glidden has agreed to be the Godmother.....We are so happy... The China Dine-ah Too is going fine, still trying to figure out the best way to get those travelers to Bar Harbor to swing in, in larger numbers. Also, thanks to all our loyal local customers for your support of both establishments.
Also, I would like to mention that my daughter Leslie is doing fine in India and there is no new baby yet. Trust me, when Leslie delivers, you will all know the following Thursday. I just made it to the Godfather status and can't wait to add grandfather/"Bumpa".
