Good day to All!
This past Tuesday and Wednesday morning, Jackie Ward and her cameraman Mike Krakowka from WCSH TV Channel 6 of Portland and WLBZ Channel 2 of Bangor came to the China DIne-ah, as part of a series of stories, they are doing on Maine towns named after countries.
The segment they put together ran twice this past Wednesday morning between the hours of 5 am and 7 am. I did not have a chance to give any of you a "heads up" on this during last week's newsletter, due to the fact Sherri just got the call last Friday telling us about their project. Jackie told Sherri "We just couldn't come to China, Maine without coming to the China Dine-ah!" Wonder how she heard about us? While at the Dine-ah, Jackie started speaking with Larry Brown, one of regulars and immediately decided she loved the story that he was about to tell. I won't go into anymore detail because I don't want to ruin the actual segment for you.
Jackie also interviewed our own Jean Johnson. If interested, please go to the following link attached here that is posted on the WCSH Channel 6 website Ain't Nothin' Finah Than China

It was a lot of fun, Jackie and Mike were very nice to work with and we were very honored, that they wanted to visit us, after all they had heard about the China Dine-ah.
On another note, this Sunday is the day that we celebrate our Moms. For those of you, who are fortunate enough to have your Mom still with you, please pick up the phone or jump in the car and celebrate this day with her, knowing how much she gave and sacrificed for your happiness and well being. Unfortunately, my drive will be to the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery where my Mom was laid to rest there some 26 years ago, at the age of 66. I will be telling her how much I still love her to this day and everyday. For the ten thousandth time, I will thank her for all she did for us kids and at the same time apologize for the way we behaved at home at times, when we were alone with her and Dad was working.
She will forever be in my heart and I will promise Mom, that I will always keep her memory alive, not only in my children's minds, but also in the minds of my grandchildren, of which the first one is on it's way in July.
Mimi, (as all the grandchildren called her), I will see you again. 'Til then, take care of Dad and have another cup of tea. Don't leave the light on, I don't plan on visiting anytime soon. Wasting the electricity would drive Dad crazy! Love you forever.
Just a reminder, we are open Mother's Day from 7 am to 6 pm with seating right up 'til closing time. We will be offering our full menu, as well as several Mother's Day specials, which are included above in this week's newsletter. Please join us to show your appreciation to the Mom's in your life. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU MOMS!
Thank you for your continued and valued support.
