February 26 -  I had another great day and did not even go to the beach, just laid low and got a little rest; sat outside and just took in all the sounds and smells. In the evening, Leslie and I went to the market to pick up some trinkets, see the people of Mapusa and spent some more precious time together. I decided to purchase 2.2kg of tenderloin beef. Wait til you see the pics, they speak for themselves. I'm going to grill the meat tonight and I can hardly wait, I plan to grill the meat as a whole piece, turning it often. I want to make sure any contaminants are well burned off while leaving the inside medium rare.....I can taste it now...western food!!!!!! No spices other than a little salt, should be so tender, makes me hungry just writing about it.

We are off to the beach in a while. Leslie has been at the veterinarian this morning with her pups as I catch up with all of you. Thank gosh for my iPad, power and internet connection. Most of you are sleeping but it is 11 am Wednesday here in Moira,Goa, India. The sun is out, and it's going to be in the 90's again, which is very difficult to take if you like the heat as I do. I guess I will take whatever hand is dealt me and make the most of it...LOL I am also looking forward to the return to snow and ice when I get back home but I prefer to do without the mud. Thanks to all of you for the weather updates,sounds like we are in for a couple of crazy days back in Maine, please all be safe.


Day at the beach!

I have been reading the daily newspapers "The Times of India" and "The Navhind Times" with great interest. Something that may interest you is that a one year CD (certificate of deposit) is paying 8% interest! There is a lot of talk here about what is called the emerging middle class and the country is talking about how to deal with social issues, as each State is so different in language and culture. They are all beautiful people just trying to cope with the hands they have been dealt...and there are "one of a kind's" all the way up to a "royal straight flush."

Leslie just returned from the veterinarian, she got held up because they were working on a dog who had been bitten by a Russell's viper, a very small but highly poisonous snake. I'm told there are snakes everywhere but I have yet to see one. I try to avoid walking in thick leaves for a good reason!

February 27 - It's another 90-95 degree day and today I am headed to lunch with the kids and Ahbi's dad. It is his 67th Birthday today and we are headed to a beach front restaurant of his liking. All is going well and I head out tomorrow night for the journey home. I'm one day behind in my posting but it will catch up with itself. I must run, sorry to be so short but I'm now on a time schedule as the week draws to an end. I have had a great time and I will hate to go, but at the same time I'm looking forward to my return to Maine. Wishing you all a great day and I hope the snow is not too much for people to deal with. March 2 - Now heading home on my last leg of my trip NY to Portland and they are de-icing the plane first...very short delay......great, great trip!! So nice to have so many be able to share my experience in India through Facebook. In future years, I may need to attach a live action camera to my ball cap!
