I'm not sure, if I have ever written this newsletter on Valentine's Day. Having said that, I would like to wish each and every one of you - men, women, children, all our readers - a very Happy Valentine's Day! I hope your day is filled with love, from those whom you care for the most. Remember, try to spread it out over 365 days, you will be a much happier person.
For all of you readers who have lost a loved one this past year, (and there are a lot of you), don't feel alone, please find comfort knowing that they are in a better place and one day you will join up with them again. Find comfort in your spouse, children, grandchildren or close friends and make this day and every day the best day possible. My heart goes out to all of you!
The results are in! I am happy to report our top selling meals for 2012. For breakfast, the weekend buffet was number one, serving close to 3,000 meals. Second was our two eggs, meat and toast, serving over 2,300.
For lunch, on the cold sandwich side, our BLT, Dine-ah Turkey Club and Chicken Club led the pack. For hot sandwiches, our shaved Prime Rib Steak 'n Cheese just edged out our half pound Cheeseburger and Corned Beef Reuben.
For appetizers, your choices in order of the most popular were the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, Nachos, Mozzarella Sticks, Crab Cakes, and Potato Skins.
On the soup and salad side, side Caesar Salad outpaced the field followed by our delicious, newly revamped (Sherri's recipe) French Onion soup, followed by our homemade Seafood Chowd-ah. Our Susan Collin's/Blackened Chicken salad was also a big seller, closely followed by the Chef Salad.
For sides, bacon, onion rings, corned beef hash, french fries, and coleslaw were among your top choices.
At dinner, the Chicken Tenders, followed by Sherri's Meatloaf and Garlic Tenderloin Tips, as well as Turkey Pot Pie, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Shepard's Pie were your top picks.
For our little Dine-ahs, the kids seem to favor Chicken Fingers, Spaghetti & Meatballs and Mac 'n Cheese.
For daily specials, our Prime Rib blew away the field, followed by All You Can Eat Fish 'n Chips, Roasted Turkey Dinner and our 8" Lobster Roll (only offered in summer months).
On the seafood side, our front runner was our signature Baked Stuffed Haddock, with over 1,600 served, followed by our Fried Seafood Platter, Fried Maine Shrimp, Broiled Haddock and Fried Scallops.
Our pasta offerings were led by Chicken Parmesan, Cheese Ravioli, meat Lasagna, and Spaghetti & Meatballs.
Our number one beer seller was Bud Light followed by Sam Adam's Seasonal, Coors Light and Sam Adam's Boston Lager.
Our three top sellers in wines were house Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot.
From our bar on the mixed drink side, Bloody Mary's and marguerita's seem to be your drinks of choice, from about 200 other choices. Hard to believe there are that many mixed drinks available!
And to start or finish your day, whatever the case may be, you all consumed over 25,000 cups of coffee!!
And to finish off your meals, homemade dessert favorites totaled close to 9,000, with our pies, cakes and cream puffs finishing 1,2 and 3.
I realize, this is worthless information but I thought it would be fun and after all, we are supposed to read for enjoyment. Hope you enjoyed these facts and figures for there will be a test next week. LOL!
Enjoy this special day and if you should be up for a good home cooked meal, we will be seating right up until 8 pm tonight and 9 pm this Friday and Saturday.
Happy Valentine's Day to All!
