Good Day to All!
I have an idea. I have run it by staff, a few regulars and we all agree, that it would be nice, if we were to do something, that I'm about to mention. Before I mention what it is, I'm going to need your help in order to make this a reality.
The idea is to create a Wall of Remembrance for those patrons who have passed on and while here, enjoyed their visit(s) to the China Dine-ah with family and friends. It would be our way of keeping these patrons' memory alive. I also feel it would be a great tribute to the many who have enjoyed the Dine-ah so much, and a reminder to their family and friends that they were a valued patron.
No name would go on the board without the blessing of the family. In fact, the family would have to provide the name, as they would like to see it on the board. I see the board or boards, matching the interior decor of the Dine-ah and located on the walls in the hallway adjacent to the function room. It would be a little bit out of the way, but there for those who want to observe the names of loved ones and reflect. Names would be engraved on a 1" x 3" brass plate as the family would like to see them listed.
I am looking forward to your input, thumbs up or down, and if an overwhelming majority of those who respond feel that this is a positive and worthwhile project, I would love to take it on. In the event that you, the patron, embrace this idea, we will start the process of getting the boards prepared to receive the names of those whom we miss, who looked forward to their visits to the Dine-ah, often looking forward to seeing their favorite server or partaking in their favorite meal. Something that prompted this idea several months ago was the fact that many of us, at the Dine-ah have shared in your loss while meeting you in person or hearing from you through the newsletter.
Let me know how you feel and if applicable, please feel free to submit the name of a family member or loved one who has passed on. We would be honored to honor those who enjoyed the Dine-ah and have gone before us.

P.S. Many of you have asked how Jean Johnson is doing. So with her permission, here is an update: Jean had a successful foot surgery and was very sore for the next couple of days. But is doing much better now. She will be out of work for an extended period of time and wanted me to pass along that she misses all of her "regulars". We all wish Jean a speedy recovery, I'm sure you miss her, as we sure do.
