Dear Friends,

On December 14, 2012, we all woke up like it was any other normal Friday morning. For those listening to the radio or watching tv, at about 10 am, your day was about to take a dramatic turn for the worse. We would learn of an incident at an elementary school in Connecticut involving a gunman and small children. As the day went on, we would learn of what would be, one of the most horrific acts in the history of this country, against our fellow man. A lone gunman, and I refuse to repeat his name, entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT and murdered twenty innocent school children and six school employees.

Something has to change and everything should be on the table. It is encouraging that there are high level talks going on in many arenas looking for some answers. I don't have the answers, but it is time something happens because if nothing happens, we will continue to get the same result.  As a nation, I pray we have the courage to bring about change to stop these senseless killings. This can be done without jeopardizing our constitutional rights set forth by our Forefathers. Sometimes in life, we have to give a little and I believe it is time.

After 9-11, our leaders took some bold steps. To date, there have been numerous attempted attacks, but none with success. This can be directly attributed to new laws passed in an effort to protect this country from terrorism. I admit that these new laws are a pain in the butt when traveling, but it is a small price to pay for the safety of the ones we love.

During this holiday season, we are all thankful for our friends, family and their well being. What we can't forget is that there are 26 families, relatives, friends, fellow Americans and even families from abroad, who have been torn by this tragic incident. We need to pray for them all during this very, very difficult time and, as a tribute to each of them, I am listing their names so that we can feel the reality. God Bless each and every one of them.
