HAITI TEAM UPDATE!

Many of you are following the Haiti Medical Team via email during their week in Haiti.  For those that haven't been able to, we wanted to include one of the updates as a glimpse into "a day in the life" of Haiti Team 16:

Today dawned hot and humid, clear blue sky after the heavy rain of yesterday. Unfortunately, the van remained out of commission which meant that the clinic up the hill was out of the question. And so it was another day in Mareshal, much to the delight of the community being served. Can't help but feel badly for the ones we couldn't reach today, but hopefully there will be another opportunity in April.

The team worked like a well-oiled machine setting up the clinic and getting the patients seen with compassion and the level of care they had learned to expect from FFCC. There
were those that required more emotional support and others that were simply looking for a bit of relief from their daily aches and pains.

From the time they were greeted by registration, through triage, the physicians, pharmacy and exit interviews, each patient and their family was made to feel like they were the
most important people we had seen all day.

This evening, we are packing up the care bags with special little gifts to present to each of our
support staff. We wouldn't be able to hold these clinics without the interpreters, security detail, Academy students and volunteers that make our team so amazing. Tomorrow's celebration is going to be fantastic!

Goodnight! Your Haiti
team

FOOD PACKAGING EVENTS!

Did you know that hunger is one of the largest solvable problems facing the world today?

Well, our FFCC community is doing their part! In the last two months, we have hosted four more events and packaged another 195,000 meals. That makes a total of 56 events and more than 9.6 million meals! Congratulations San Diego County!

Carlsbad/Solana Beach community set a goal to pack 50,000 meals and rallied so much support they ended up with over 90,000 meals! And...

Azusa Pacific University celebrated it's first food packaging event with one hundred and fifty students who came together on campus to package 20,000 meals! The event made a great impression on the faculty. We look forward to coming back for an even larger event next time!

WAIT! We're not done! Join us Sunday, November 17th, 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Poway High School for another amazing event. We hope to package 100,000 meals! Registration is open on our website- www.ffccsd.org.

If you would like to help us keep this fight against hunger going, consider sponsoring an event. Contact Phil Harrris (philffcc@san.rr.com) or Tina Socha (Tina.socha@ffccsd.org) for more information.
