FAMILY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES!

Another summer is behind us with the fun vacations and good family times.  As we settle back in to work and school, FFCC wants to encourage you to continue to make time with your family a priority.  There are several ways for you to serve together that are not only a help and blessing to those being served but fun and worthwhile for you and yours.

Join us on Labor Day, Monday September 2nd as we serve our homeless community.  We will serve dinner, distribute donations, assist in helping at our Foot Aid Stations, and enjoy wonderful interaction with our guests. Don't come empty handed, we're looking for socks and reading glasses if you have some to donate.

If you cannot join us downtown for our Homeless Outreach, there are still ways your family can make a difference.  In addition to socks and reading glasses, you can collect-

  • blankets,
  • sleeping bags,
  • coats,
  • water bottles, or
  • assemble hygiene kits

Donated items can be dropped off at the Poway Dream Dinners, 12218 Poway Road, #100, Poway 92064 or contact Tina Socha at tina.socha@san.rr.com if you are not able to bring them downtown yourself.

We also have weekday opportunities to help with the pick-up of fresh food and produce donated from vendors in the North County area and delivered to distributions points for families in need.  You can contact Becky Palenske for more information. ffccsdlocal@gmail.com

A NOTE FROM MELIKA (9 years old)

Each week FFCC provides food for families throughout North County donated from our Backyard Produce and Food Vendor Outreach.  Here's a note from a very thankful recipient.

Dear FFCC,

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for the food you brought to us this summer.  We thank you very much and thank all your helpers to.

See you next summer.

From Melika

  • Mt. Carmel High School
  • Westview High School
  • Del Norte High School

We encourage you to seek them out and join in their efforts.  For more information about these clubs or if you would like to start one at your school, contact Tina Socha at tina.socha@san.rr.com

TANZANIA DIRECTOR OF COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL VISITS SAN DIEGO!

This September FFCC will have the privilege to host Joseph Mitinje, Tanzania Director of Compassion International.  Compassion is an organization who helps care for children through a sponsorship program.  There are currently 65,000 children in the Tanzania program.

Mr. Mitinje and his organization are partnering with FFCC to bring safe water to families in Tanzania.  Together we were able to provide training for Compassion community leaders who installed 7,500 water filters earlier this year. We are also exploring opportunities to help establish an adoption program between Tanzania and the U.S.  We will keep you informed on the development of this program that FFCC hopes to establish with the government to connect U.S. families with orphaned and abandoned children in Tanzania.

Joseph and his wife have graciously hosted our FFCC Tanzania teams on several occasions.  It is our pleasure to be able to return the hospitality
