 EMERGENCY NEW JERSEY PACKAGING EVENT!

In March of this year, FFCC sent a team from San Diego to Secaucus, New Jersey to host a food packaging event in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.  FFCC, along with volunteers from Secaucus, packaged thousands of Fight Against Hunger meals. These meals were given to the local food bank, who then distributed them to families displaced from their homes due to flooding. FFCC has been requested to return and provide food assistance due to the horrific damage caused from Hurricane Sandy.  We are working with local officials in Secaucus to plan an emergency food packaging event.  FFCC will combine donations received towards this upcoming event along with donations raised in Secaucus.

If you would like to donate funds towards this relief effort, please send your tax-deductible contribution to FFCC, 12463 Rancho Bernardo Road, PMB #158, San Diego, CA 92128.  Please note "New Jersey FPE" in the memo section of your check.  You are also welcome to contribute through the Paypal link which you will find on our website- www.ffccsd.org.  If you need more information about this opportunity, contact Phil Harris at [email protected].

AN EVENING AT VINTANA!

Please join us Thursday evening, 7:00PM, November 29th at Vintana in the Lexus Centre in Escondido to hear about a unique education program that is changing the lives of students in Haiti. Earlier this year, FFCC launched "The Ayiti (Haiti) Academy" as a means to provide much needed support for students that strongly desire the opportunity of higher education and change in their country. These students are remarkable individuals that have set themselves apart from others despite the many obstacles that are present in Haiti. Come hear about these students as we celebrate their accomplishments and share with you their desires and the ways that you can partner with them to achieve success.

Change begins with you! This opportunity to invest in a Haitian student may also provide a great way for your family and/or friends to celebrate Christmas this year as an alternative to buying gifts for each other. Won't you join us for a night of fun, silent auctions, and delicious refreshments served by Vintana?

If you would like more information on this event or about the Ayiti Academy, please contact Norma Silva ([email protected]).

FFCC BRINGS MEDICAL CARE TO HAITI!

Haiti is yet again struggling with the aftermath of a hurricane.  The Associated Press reported that Haiti's death toll from Hurricane Sandy was at 44 as of this past Saturday.  Prime Minister Lamothe told the AP that the whole south is under water.  On Nov. 10 - 18, FFCC will take a team of 21 doctors, nurses, and support staff to do what we can to continue to provide help and encouragement.  This will be FFCC's 13th trip to Haiti since the earthquake in 2010, but this will be the first time we will go into the remote hill country to host two separate medical clinics for families that have little to no access to such care. In addition to medications and supplies, we will take water filters and our non-perishable meals for those in critical need. We will provide regular updates from Haiti as service allows.  If you are interested in receiving the news, send an email to Steve Socha at [email protected] and he will add your email address to the contact list.

Also, FFCC will be traveling to Haiti both in March and April of 2013.  The dates are shown below on our calendar. There is still room for you to join us.  Contact Tina Socha at [email protected] if you would like more information.
