Like all of you, we at FFCC have been heartbroken by the terribly tragic events that have unfolded in Japan over the past week.

 

We are in the initial stages of working with a non-profit organization in Japan and are evaluating what resources FFCC and our volunteers may be able to use to help in this time of terrible need.  We will be back to you with an update as soon as we have a plan on how we can provide humanitarian aid.  Phil has been meeting with the board of directors of a Japanese NGO and together they are working out the details.  As soon as those details are worked through, FFCC will e-news you immediately so you can join in the effort!

23rd Food Packaging Event

 

  

 

 

On March 26th and 27th, FFCC will be teaming up with The Church at Rancho Bernardo (CRB) to host our 23rd Food Packaging Event.  We are hoping to package 1/2 million meals or more.

 

Go online now to reserve your spot!  Over 2,400 volunteers have already signed up!

 

Wondering what to bring to the packaging event?
  • Lots of energy and anticipation of having a GREAT time!
  • A donation of $20 to help support 80 meals that will be given away locally and shipped globally.  All donations are tax deductible.
  • Bring a healthy appetite!  We will have several food vendors at the event who are donating a share of their profits to food packaging!
  • We are also asking volunteers to bring reading glasses and over-the-counter medications for individuals in Haiti and Tanzania.  Click here or go to the FFCC website for more information.

growth Can You Help FFCC Grow?

 

Thanks to all of you, FFCC continues to expand!!  When we started  packaging food five years ago, we held two to three  food packaging events per year and had ten to twelve volunteers that made one or two trips annually to help the needy in Tanzania.   Now we average six to seven food packaging events  per year  and  organize over 150  volunteers making six to eight  trips to Haiti and Tanzania.  Thanks to your generosity, the donations we are receiving to fund our humanitarian efforts abroad and at home are continuing to make a huge impact!

 

We are rapidly outgrowing our Excel-based accounting system and need help from someone with extensive expertise with Quicken or a similar program who can volunteer his or her time to see if it can satisfy our unique needs and to do the initial set-up. 

 

It takes the combined efforts of numerous volunteers for us to continue helping those less fortunate.  We hope you can help us again.

 emergency kit2Emergency Kits Available! 
 
FFCC will be selling Food/Water Emergency Kits at the March 26/27 Food Packaging Event on a pre-order basis.  Each kit will consist of one water filtration system ($75 each) and 30 days worth of meals ($25) for a total of $100, all packaged in a five-gallon bucket.  Additional emergency meals will be available for $5 for a six-serving bag. 
Pre-order your kit by emailing Pam at dlordr@cox.net , then just stop by our Water Filtration Tent display to pick up and pay for your kit via check or cash .

Help Wanted:  We need a web programmer to volunteer for a short project to help support FFCC's Clean Water Initiative.  We need someone who can integrate Google Earth into FFCC's website.  Proof of concept is complete - just needs to be executed on FFCC's website.   Please let us know if you can help!
