Dear   ,
 Africa Child

Tanzania Team #8 is ready for launch!

Tanzania Team #8 will be flying out of San Diego at 8:30am on Saturday, February 12th.  The team will return on Tuesday, March 1st, at 7:00pm.  There will be 17 volunteers traveling to the city of Arusha and then traveling by land out to central Tanzania.

During the 2 1/2 week trip the team will be:

* Installing a playground at the Children's Center in Singida Town.

* Constructing a mini strip mall for small businesses to rent that will help cover the operational cost of the Children's Center.

* Ground breaking of a medical clinic with Hadzabe Tribe.

* Meeting with the Tanzania Prime Minister and Commissioner of Social Welfare to discuss child adoptions.

* Distributing meals shipped from San Diego (2.7 million) and installing water filter systems.

There have been 106 volunteers from FFCC that have left their mark on the hearts of the people in Tanzania.  Thank you, San Diego, for another opportunity to represent you and our county as we bring the much needed resources of building materials, packaged food, water kits, encouragement, and hope.

If you would like to donate financial resources to help meet the trip objectives, you can do so through the Donate page of our website.  Also, if you would like to join the team headed to Tanzania this summer, please email Phil at [email protected]  for more information.

fpe thumbs up 23rd Packaging Event Coming Up!

Sign ups for our 23rd food packaging event will begin March 6th.  Our goal is to package 500,000 meals at .25 cents per meal ($125,000).

In addition to your donation of time to help us package the meals in March, would you also consider a financial donation to help us raise the money to purchase the bulk food ingredients?  All we need is 6,250 people donating $20 each.  We've done it in the past and I'm confident we'll do it again.  If you remember, last year about this time we raised enough money to do a 1 million meal event.

Twenty-two past food packaging events have produced 600,000 meals for families throughout San Diego, 1 million meals shipped to Haiti, and 2.7 million meals shipped to Tanzania.  Great job FFCC Team!!

world water drop Water That Saves Lives!

FFCC recently installed over 45 water filtration systems in Haiti, and is planning on installing a similar number of systems in Tanzania in the next few weeks.

The key to this amazingly simple system is a high-tech filter manufactured with the same technology used in kidney dialysis systems.  The 0.1 micron filter can eliminate virtually all bacteria and cysts (including cholera) from the water, and filter over one million gallons, about a lifetime's worth of drinking water.

If you or your family would like to purchase one or more of these systems to donate to families in Haiti or Tanzania, FFCC will install them during trips to both countries over the next several months.   Please click here to donate to this special project or make your tax-deductible check out to FFCC and write "clean water" in the memo section.  Mail to:

You can also purchase the same $75 filtration system for your own family as part of your emergency preparedness kit.  We'll even show you how to set it up and use it!
