Dear   ,
 haiti children

On Friday, January 14th, FFCC will be sending its fifth team to Haiti since the earthquake that occurred one year ago on January 12, 2010.  This January trip was originally planned to send over 30 doctors, nurses, and other medical and community volunteers to provide much needed medical aid to the city of Gressier.  Because of the recent rescheduling of elections from November to January, FFCC felt it was unsafe for a team of this size.  So the medical team has been rescheduled to April 9th and a much smaller team will travel to Haiti instead.  The team will take 150 water filtration systems, medical supplies, and FFCC's specially formulated packaged food.  The team will be working with the Minister of Health, Jean Remy David, installing water filters in villages with extreme cases of cholera.  Over 200 water filter kits at $75.00 each have been purchased by FFCC donors to help with Haiti's need for clean water.  These kits will eliminate cholera and other waterborne bacteria.

In the last two months, over 3,500 people have died of cholera, while 100,000 children and adults are currently suffering from its devastating effects.

Thank you, FFCC family, for providing the filters and supplies so our work in Haiti can continue.  Please keep the team in your prayers as we travel and serve the people of Haiti.

Sincerely

Phil

A Christmas Story...

In one of our December newsletters, FFCC told you about a single mom and her children losing their house at Christmas time.  What made this situation even more challenging was that this mom lost her husband to cancer three years ago at Christmas and had recently been laid off from her job.  The mom was overwhelmed and in desperate need of help.  She found another house in the same area so her children wouldn't have to change schools, but it needed appliances and a large security deposit and help moving.   After sharing the need with you, the FFCC family mobilized and provided everything and more for this mom and her family.  She wrote a thank you note expressing her appreciation.

  Dear  FFCC Family,

It seems as if the words "THANK YOU" cannot begin to express what my kids and I are feeling .... we are beyond overwhelmed at your amazing generosity and outreach to us.

We are total strangers to you, and we know that things are difficult and seemingly impossible throughout all of our communities.  Yet you helped us, being a powerful testimony we will carry for the rest of our lives of God's miraculous provision and love!

We will truly never be the same, as we watched God use people we did not know to bring us home and bless us!  THANK YOU seems so inadequate, but we are trusting God to impress upon your hearts the depth of our gratitude and the power of your support and involvement in our lives.  We pray for you, we are thankful for you, and we ask God to bless you richly!

Thank You FFCC Family
