Dear ,
208,000 Meals! What a great event!
The first Food Packaging Event in the City of Escondido was a huge success! Over 1,200 folks from the community came together on a beautiful, cool, fall day in Southern California to package over 208,000 meals in just under six hours last Sunday.
In addition to packaging, volunteers viewed displays of the new water filtration system, medical aid to Haiti, and Operation Christmas Child, feasted on tacos from Kennedy Meats and smoothies from Jamba Juice, and did some Christmas shopping at the Tanzania Store. A huge day!
Thank you to our primary sponsor, Grace Lutheran Church and Schools, and to all the Escondido and San Diego County businesses who partnered together to make this event happen. Way to go, Escondido!! |

Christmas Outreach!
If you would like to support a family in need this Christmas here in the North County area, FFCC would love to work with you. The scope of support can range from providing a food basket or providing Christmas gifts of clothing/shoes and items on a list the family provides anonymously. You decide what you would like to do and FFCC will connect you with a family. It's a wonderful opportunity for our FFCC families to be an encouragement and blessing to others! Join us! |
Can You Help? The Celebration Center is putting on their very first Food Packaging Event and would love to have your help! If you can spare an hour or so to do some food packaging on December 11th from 9:00am to 3:00pm in Sorrento Valley, then please go to their website for more information and get signed up! |
Homeless Outreach!
Join us this Monday night, December 6th at the Salvation Army in downtown San Diego, for our final Homeless Outreach in 2010. It's been an awesome year to get to know so many of our homeless community. We've had the chance to feed over 1,200 homeless men, women, and children, and handed out hundreds of shoes, blankets, clothing and hygiene kits. Some of our homeless friends have even helped us at our different meal packaging events. We've had over 400 volunteers from the community join us throughout the year.
This Monday, a group of musicians and a student choir will provide beautiful Christmas music and carols as we serve a wonderful Christmas dinner to our guests. You can help by providing the following: jackets, winter shirts, gloves, beanies, sleeping bags, blankets, socks, shoes, water bottles, hygiene items, etc. If you can't bring the items with you, drop them off at Dream Dinners in Poway at 12218 Poway Rd Ste 100, Poway 92064, by noon on Monday the 6th.
Thank you for helping us bring joy and encouragement to our homeless friends!

Operation Christmas Child Success! Thank you to all who participated in providing shoe box gifts for Operation Christmas Child at our Food Packaging Event last Sunday. Our community filled 79 shoe boxes! Those boxes will be shipped around the world to children in need.
Rick Riehman, the Area Coordinator for this effort said, "Thank-you, FFCC volunteers, for your willingness, support and active participation in Operation Christmas Child. You have richly blessed many children and the extra donated items will also be of great benefit in giving children the gift of hope and love."
If you would like to volunteer to support this organization next Christmas season, you can contact Rick at rriehman@cox.net . |
