Dear FFCC Leaders and Volunteers,

Thank you for another incredible year of hard work and service to our community and to families here and around the world.  This year FFCC volunteers did the following:

*21 Volunteers traveled and worked in    Tanzania

*26 Volunteers traveled and worked in Haiti

*900,000 meals were shipped to Tanzania

*600,000 were shipped to Haiti

*1.6 million meals were assembled and distributed locally and globally

*300+ Thanksgiving food baskets were assembled and delivered to families throughout North County

*Over 1,500 homeless individuals were fed and provided clothing, hygiene items and other resources

*Over 10,000 volunteers participated in

different FFCC outreach opportunities, including homeless, adult senior outreach, food packaging events, and much more

*This Sunday will be our 22nd Food Packaging Event with a goal of 200,000 meals

Thank you San Diego County for your incredible generosity, support and hard work to make this happen.  Truly, San Diego is America's Finest City, not because of location but because of what we do!

Have a wonderful celebration with your family this Thanksgiving season.  Hope to see all of you on Sunday at the Packaging Event!

 Operation Christmas Child Returns!

Operation Christmas Child will be partnering with Grace Lutheran Church, one of the hosts of the Food Packaging Event being held at the Old Escondido Police Station on November 28th, to once again bring hope and a simple shoe box gift to children around the world. Operation Christmas Child, a project of international relief and evangelism organization Samaritan's Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, encourages volunteers to fill simple shoe boxes with toys, necessity items, school supplies, candy and hand-written notes of encouragement.  For many of these children, the shoe box gift will be the first gift they have ever received, letting them know they are loved and not forgotten.

You can participate in Operation Christmas Child at the Food Packaging Event on November 28th by bringing hygiene items (toothbrush & toothpaste, soap, wash cloth, comb, etc.), school supplies, small toys, hard candy, and/or accessories such as socks, sunglasses, ballcaps, etc. Standard size empty shoe boxes are also appreciated.

Learn how to pack a shoe box and become a part of the largest Christmas outreach in the world. Information on how to pack a shoe box will be available at the event or you can check out the website at www.samaritanspurse.org .

You may bring your already-packed shoe box, too.
