Dear ,
On Sunday November 7th, five volunteers from San Diego County will be traveling to Haiti for FFCC's fourth trip to that country since the January earthquake. Another hurricane may hit Haiti this week, adding to the woes of a nation where cholera is spreading in the countryside and tens of thousands of earthquake survivors are still living in flimsily-built shelters.
FFCC's trip objectives are to assist in the aftermath of the hurricane/tropical storm, design and build a mobile clinic for the team of doctors and nurses traveling from San Diego to Haiti in January, and to install water treatment systems in the homes of families in Gressier. The water filtration systems will eliminate cholera and other waterborne bacteria.
For $75.00 you can partner with FFCC and purchase a water treatment system for a family in Haiti. Mail a check to FFCC and note "water filter" in the memo section or use our PayPal Account to contribute. Thank you for teaming up with FFCC and making a difference in the lives of people in Haiti! |

Shopping with a Purpose!
Don't forget to look for this banner at this weekend's
Food Packaging Event! Under it you'll find the "Tanzania Store" where you will be able to browse through ebony and mahogany Tanzania souvenirs, FFCC and Gunda School t-shirts, and much more. All donations will go to support FFCC's work. |
Operation Chrismas Child!
St. Bartholomew's Church, one of the hosts of the Food Packaging Event being held at Del Norte High School this Saturday, has partnered with Operation Christmas Child to bring hope and a simple shoe box gift to children around the world. Operation Christmas Child, a project of international relief and evangelism organization Samaritan's Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, encourages volunteers to fill simple shoe boxes with toys, necessity items, school supplies, candy and hand-written notes of encouragement. For many of these children, the shoe box gift will be the first gift they have ever received, letting them know they are loved and not forgotten.
You can participate in Operation Christmas Child at the Food Packaging Event on November 6th by bringing hygiene items (toothbrush & toothpaste, soap, wash cloth, comb, etc.), school supplies, small toys, hard candy, and/or accessories such as socks, sunglasses, ballcaps, etc. Standard size empty shoe boxes are also appreciated.
Learn how to pack a shoe box and become a part of the largest Christmas outreach in the world. Information on how to pack a shoe box will be available at the event or you can check out the website at www.samaritanspurse.org . You may bring your already-packed shoe box, too.

Can You Help?
There are about a dozen homeless friends that would like to come and help assemble meals at the Food Packaging Event this Saturday at Del Norte High School. We are looking for three or four people willing to drive down to the Salvation Army in San Diego to pick them up and bring them to the event. If you can help, please contact Phil Harris right away at [email protected] .
