Dear   ,

Fight Against Hunger Clubs are Growing!

FFCC's High School Fight Against Hunger clubs are taking off!  This last Sunday, October 10th, student leaders from Rancho Bernardo, Mt. Carmel, Westview, Poway, Calvin Christian, and San Pasqual High Schools came together to put the final touches on a food packaging fundraiser. This fundraising process will assist students in raising money to travel abroad to assist FFCC in the distribution of food and to work on the different projects going on in Tanzania, Africa, and Haiti.

In April, FFCC will be taking high school students and other volunteers to Haiti for our sixth trip.  We will be helping to build a children's orphanage and to continue our support in the earthquake relief effort.  If you are interested in going to Haiti with the team, join us on Tuesday, November 2nd, for an informational meeting at 6:30pm.  For more information please contact Phil at philffcc@san.rr.com .

On a cool fall evening there is nothing that hits the spot more than a tasty sandwich and a cup of warm soup to dip it in!  That's what our FFCC gang of volunteers served to 122 of our homeless guests down at the Salvation Army.  Some of us served the meal. Others helped our guests find needed clothing and blankets in the donations that were brought.  Still others grabbed water bottles and took to the streets of our city looking to encourage and provide a drink to those that might be thirsty.  Next month, we have a senior from Poway High School who is setting up a photo studio to take holiday portraits as a gift to our homeless. She shared the idea with them last Monday and the response was wonderful!  There was a woman who was so blessed at the idea of having a family portrait with her five children!

Also, we'd like to invite our homeless guests to join us for our November 6th Food Packaging Event. So if any of you have a desire to help make that a possibility, join us downtown at the Salvation Army, Monday night, November 1st at 6pm, and we'll help you connect with a homeless guest and set-up the meeting point.  Hope to see you there!

 haiti xmasShoe Boxes for Christmas!
We are up to 100 kids that have been adopted for Christmas in Haiti!  Our goal is to provide Christmas Shoe Boxes for 2,000 homeless children in the city of Gressier.  These children lost their parents in the January earthquake and will be experiencing their first Christmas without family.

You can partner with us by donating $10.00 for every child you would like to support.  Your $10.00 will go towards purchasing a shoe box filled with clothing items, a toy, hygiene items, and a huge Christmas party where the kids will receive their gifts.  FFCC will purchase these items in Haiti to help build back their economy.

Consider sharing this opportunity with your school, neighbors, clubs, and family members.  You can make your tax-deductible donation via Pay Pal or mail your check to:
