Dear   ,
 haiti team 3
FFCC is preparing to launch its first Fight Against Hunger Club at Mt. Carmel High School.  Philip Cowart and Miles Twitty, students at Mt. Carmel, are giving overall leadership to the organization.  The club's core student leadership team met last week to talk about the purpose and direction of the club.

Mt. Carmel is the first of six high schools purposing to start a Fight Against Hunger Club on their school campus this year.  The purpose of the student-led clubs is to join in the fight to eliminate hunger, both locally and globally.  The clubs will encourage students to participate in local food packaging events throughout North County and to host a food packaging event on their school campus.  Students will also have the opportunity to assist in delivering food to local families in need and to travel with FFCC to other countries to distribute food and participate in ongoing projects.  Del Norte High School will be hosting our 21st Food Packaging Event on November 6th.

If you are interested in starting a Fight Against Hunger Club on your school campus or would like more information about how these clubs work, please contact Tina Socha at tina.socha@san.rr.com  for more information.

Homelessness touches nearly every one of us through friends, relatives, co-workers, or acquaintances.  The good news is that we can all do something to make a difference.  Together we can exponentially increase our effect.  Join us on Monday night, September 6th, at the Salvation Army building downtown at 6:00 pm, as we feed the homeless and help to end homelessness in San Diego.  Go to our web site at www.ffccsd.org  for details.
