Dear   ,
 TZ PM 2
This summer FFCC made its seventh trip to Tanzania, Africa with 12 volunteers from San Diego.  One of the highlights of the trip was meeting with the Prime Minister of Tanzania, the Honorable Mizengo Kiatanza Pinda.  Prime Minister Pinda thanked FFCC for all the food shipped from San Diego over the last three years(2.4 million meals, including 300,000 just shipped last week).  He also wanted FFCC to know how grateful and impressed he was as he toured the Children's Center in Singida and the girls dormitory at the Gunda School in Nkungi.  It is the Prime Minister's desire to continue to partner together and to have FFCC work more closely
with the Minister of Women, Gender and Children.   FFCC requested that the
Prime Minister find a way to eliminate or reduce the port and transportation fees required for the food shipped from San Diego.  The elimination of fees will allow us to package and ship more food.

We will meet again with the Prime Minister and his staff when we return in February, 2011.    We also talked about the Prime Minister coming to San Diego to thank our city personally for all the work and investment FFCC has contributed to his country.  Hopefully, he will be here in the October/November time frame.  We'll keep you posted.  Don't grow weary in well-doing, FFCC team.  Your work is reaching the highest level of leadership in Tanzania and is making a huge difference!

Let us know if you would like to join FFCC for its 8th trip to Tanzania in February, 2011.

warehouse 2Haiti Trip #3 Ready to Go!

Team # 3 to Haiti is putting together the final plans before leaving San Diego on Friday, July 30.  The team of 15 volunteers will be running hard over these ten days, providing help and support to the thousands left homeless and devastated by the January earthquake.  FFCC will be breaking ground on a much needed orphanage in the city of Gressier.  Many moms and dads were killed by the earthquake, leaving hundreds of children without a family and home.  This orphanage is the first of many steps needed to care for children in Haiti.

Doctors Joel and Eunice Mata will be traveling with FFCC to lay out the plans for a large medical team to travel from San Diego in January of 2011.  FFCC is also taking a professor from the Food Science Department of the University of Iowa to help develop a protein and vitamin enriched recipe from food products grown in Haiti.  The Mayor of Gressier has donated the land to get this project started.  FFCC will be meeting with the Minister of Agriculture to coordinate efforts with other agencies working in Haiti.

Upon return to San Diego, FFCC will announce the date of Haiti Trip #4.  If you would like to invest financially with FFCC and/or join the upcoming team to Haiti, please contact Phil at philffcc@san.rr.com.
 mme shirtWarehouse Space Needed!
We are warehouse-less!  FFCC is in the process of moving out of our warehouse in Rancho Bernardo and we are in desperate need of some warehouse space (1,000 square feet plus) to house our packaging equipment, bulk food, and finished meals!  If you have any space you can donate or know of someone who does, please contact Phil at philffcc@san.rr.com  .

Thanks!
