Congratulations Odle Jazz Band
Odle's Jazz Club and Odle's Jazz Band both attended the Riverside Jazz Festival in Auburn on January 12. Both groups gave excellent performances. The Jazz Band was the only middle school band to receive a gold award from the judges. Congratulations to Mr. Roberts and the jazz band!

PTA's Olympia Focus Day: Speak Up for Our Kids!
Washington State PTA Focus Day is January 24th at the Capital Campus in Olympia. This is the PTA's citizen lobbying day when advocates can rally, speak up, and meet with legislators to let them know that kids matter. Information about registration, the Focus Day blog, the schedule and how to make an appointment with your legislators can be found at the state PTA website: http://www.wastate.org
(click the blue Focus Day register button for information even if you don't end up registering). The Lake Washington and Issaquah Councils may have space on their buses if any of our members are looking for transportation.
PTA members across the state will be reaching out to every legislator who has a PTA in their district. PTA will also be holding informal issue sessions for members who want to learn more about the McCleary school funding lawsuit and other advocacy issues on the PTA platform.
If you can't travel to Olympia on Focus Day and are interested in a virtual meeting with your legislators, the Focus Day Chair is working on providing an opportunity to have an on-line conference in the comfort of your own home. If you are interested in participating in a short 15-20 minute meeting with your legislator, send an email to Focus Day Chair:
Jason Rothkowitz jason.rothkowitz@lwptsa.net
with your contact information, your legislators or your legislative district.
