We had a great turnout for our 2nd annual Grandparents & Special Friends Breakfast!
Thank you to all who attended and especially to our many volunteers who baked, planned and worked tirelessly to put together a very special morning for families & students.

This Week...
book fair
Scholastic Book Fair is 
THIS WEEK!
Kick off Pizza Party & Shopping Monday 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria
Homerooms have individual shopping times, click here for K-5 and here for Middle School shopping schedules

Additional Hours:
Open after school 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday and Friday morning from 8:30 -9:30 a.m.

K-5 Book Fair will be located in the hallway by Front Office/Art Room and Middle School Book Fair will be on the stage in the gym.

The PTO still needs VOLUNTEERS to help with the book fair! Please consider volunteering to work during the pizza party, the book fair and/or to breakdown on Friday.  Click here for the volunteer schedule.

Acknowledgement forms due TUESDAY
Family Handbook and Attendance Agreement Acknowledgements were backpacked home last week, one signed form of each is required per family.

If you need a hard copy of the Family Handbook, please email the Front Office  
and one will be backpacked home with your child.

Reminders...
Volunteering at Riverview 
If you have lots of time or a little time, whether off campus or on, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends... it's all valued and important.
Opportunities for volunteering include, but are not limited to: assisting with small group reading in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, assisting with class events, and participating in annual fundraising activities. There are countless ways to become involved!
 
Volunteer Orientations
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays (starting Sept. 8th)  
Want to be on the approved volunteer list?  Stop by the school for a 15 minute orientation video and paperwork on TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS 10:00 a.m., 11:00am or 12:00 p.m. during the month of September.  If you are unable to make these times, stop by on WEDNESDAYS - at 4:00 p.m.
  
If you have not completed a Volunteer Interest Form please click here and we always appreciate a donation of $8 for your SLED background check. No appointment needed, just show up at one of the designated times!  Questions?  Contact Jaci Matz at jmatz@riverviewcharterschool.org.

Lunch Applications Due September 15
You will be responsible for lunch charges if application is submitted after September 15th
USDA Free & Reduced Lunch Applications are due NO LATER than September 15th.  Applications are available on the web site (click here) or in the the Front Office.  

Remember - new applications are due each school year and even if you filled out an application at another BCSD school you must fill out a separate application for Riverview.

1st - 6th Grades are getting Active!
PE Classes Participating in "Active Gamecocks"
LOGS DUE MONDAY, SEPT. 14
Students in 1st - 6th grades have been given an opportunity to track their after school physical activities for the next two weeks with a goal to average 30 minutes per day.  Participating students will earn tickets to a selected volleyball and men's and women's soccer games at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
