Thank you to everyone who participated in 
Riverview's Summer Reading Challenge!
We had over 200 participants competing this summer.
7 winners received $10 gift certificates to Riverview's Scholastic Book Fair and our GRAND prize winner received a $50 gift certificate.
The Scholastic Book Fair is September 14 - 18th.  The PTO needs volunteers to help with the pizza party, to run registers during the fair and set up/break down for the book fair.

Dismissal Reminder
Please remember, to ensure safety of ALL students, any dismissal changes (bus, carpool, walkers & TIDEWATCH) are due to the office no later than 1:00 p.m. each day.  This includes any early dismissal for appointments.

Volunteering at Riverview 
If you have lots of time or a little time, whether off campus or on, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends... it's all valued and important.
Opportunities for volunteering include, but are not limited to: assisting with small group reading in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, assisting with class events, and participating in annual fundraising activities. There are countless ways to become involved!
 
Volunteer Orientations
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays (starting Sept. 8th)  
Want to be on the approved volunteer list?  Stop by the school for a 15 minute orientation video and paperwork on TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS 10:00 a.m., 11:00am or 12:00 p.m. during the month of September.  If you are unable to make these times, stop by on WEDNESDAYS - at 4:00 p.m.
  
If you have not completed a Volunteer Interest Form please click here and we always appreciate a donation of $8 for your SLED background check. No appointment needed, just show up at one of the designated times!  Questions?  Contact Jaci Matz at [email protected].

Reminders...
Lunch Applications Due September 15
You will be responsible for lunch charges if application is submitted after September 15th
USDA Free & Reduced Lunch Applications are due NO LATER than September 15th.  Applications are available on the web site (click here) or in the the Front Office.  

Remember - new applications are due each school year and even if you filled out an application at another BCSD school you must fill out a separate application for Riverview.

1st - 6th Grades are getting Active!
PE Classes Participating in "Active Gamecocks"
Students in 1st - 6th grades have been given an opportunity to track their after school physical activities for the next two weeks with a goal to average 30 minutes per day.  Participating students will earn tickets to a selected volleyball and men's and women's soccer games at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

Basketball Coaches Needed Athletic log stingray
The Riverview Stingrays are looking for coaches for the upcoming basketball season!  On the boys side, the athletic department is looking for an assistant coach to help our head Coach Nick Fields.  
     The girls basketball team is in need of a head coach that can work with the team on a daily basis.  Interested candidates should contact Athletic Director Jon Strebe via email or phone 379-0123 ext. 244.
