Start a New Holiday Tradition: Giving Tuesday
We have a day of giving thanks and two days of getting deals. How about a day of giving back?
Giving Tuesday, December 3, is a national day of giving to kick off the giving season. So, in honor of Giving Tuesday, make a donation to the Y's annual giving campaign and help us create a Mathews County that is more healthy, more connected, more active, more welcoming. The annual giving campaign is about supporting everything we already do-feeding hungry kids, engaging teens in purposeful activities, helping adults remain independent-and achieving so much more beyond that.
As a non-profit charitable organization, this little Y has provided 651 scholarships to local youth and families this year. In fact, 1/10 of our program participants and 1/5 of our members were given the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y even though they were on a fixed income and couldn't afford the full fees. At the Y, we don't just strengthen bodies, we help kids achieve their goals; we help families come together; we help communities build connections. The Y is so much more than a place. We're a cause dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
If you have already donated to the Y--thank you for making an investment in local youth and families. If you are still making decisions about holiday and end-of-year giving--look no further than the Y to be a good steward of your donation. Gifts of all size make a difference and are appreciated. Every dollar counts because every person counts.
Donations can be mailed to or dropped off at the Mathews Family YMCA (P.O. Box 1536/10746 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews, 23109) or click here to make an online donation.
