Important Notification - 2016 Haulout Date Change
2016 Haulout Updates

Important Notice To All Members

DATE CHANGE: Haulout is now 21 October and 22 October (Friday/Saturday), with the Sunday as our customary (rarely used) contingency day.

With Thanksgiving coming a little earlier this year, and the prognosis is for a warmer than usual Fall, we have postponed Haulout one week so that the Thanksgiving weekend will be a full sailing weekend before putting the boat away.

I know that some will have made plans based on the normal one-week-after-Thanksgiving timing, and I regret any inconvenience that this change will cause. However, my quick walk around survey last week indicated strong interest in hauling two weeks after Thanksgiving.

MAST UP: We have agreed to run a larger trial of Mast Up hauling this year, due to popular demand. A limit of 15 boats on the crane will be accepted, and a smaller number on the Railway. The common charge will be $11 per linear foot to cover the additional time on the Large Crane, and that any boats wanting Mast Up currently on Small Crane have to be moved to the Large Crane. We have estimated the additional time required based on the 2013/2014 trial (seen below). Should our process improve to make these estimates overly conservative, we will revisit the charge following launch in the spring.
If you are interested, there will be an application form available outside the office to be completed and signed and is attached here. If more boats subscribe than we can accommodate, a selection will be made based on several factors, including boat size, mast size, seniority. The goal is to fine tune the process and thus a representative selection of boats is needed.

CHANGE IN STORAGE NEEDS: (beyond Mast Up) Any member wishing to change their boat storage needs for this winter must inform the office no later than September 10. A cc to myself (Roy.Little@bell.net) or Bruce Morrison (bruce_morrison@rogers.com) would be appreciated. We will otherwise assume that if we looked after you last year we will do the same this. If you stored elsewhere last year, you need to explicitly let us know that you are coming back as we will not assume so.

Many thanks and enjoy the rest of the season!
