Hang on...this won't last much longer.  Warmer weather will return
in a few weeks and eventually this area will be crowded again.

Since we had that lovely snow storm last week that prevented you from getting to ABYC to help with those vital maintenance jobs, there's another opportunity for you this week.  So come on down and contribute to the important work needed to maintain our club, harbour walls and docks.

1. Stephen Trevitt and team continue to work on wall repairs.  We were experiencing some mechanical issues with the pile driver over the past several weeks, causing some delays to the project.  A big thank you to Johnny Ballman and Roger Marsh for sorting out our somewhat temperamental pile driver and coaxing it back to life.  We were able to finally pile drive a sheet of metal last week!

2. Mike Leroux and team are working on dock repairs.

3. Alfie and the Bubbler Boys are out every week keeping our docks bubbled.

4. There is a project starting up to build 5 new work rafts.  Once the materials are delivered - tentatively scheduled for Feb 16 we will be looking for volunteers to:

    Dismantle existing rafts
Alter the steel frames for the floats
    Install the floats
    Install the decking
    Launch the rafts

In response to member enquiries, Bob Hedley mandated a sub-committee to review the possibility of hauling boats with their masts up, on a voluntary basis. The Committee members who are investigating this option are Peter Lancaster Brooks, Bruce Hannah, Bruce Morrison, Anthony Mirvish and Roy Little.

In order to solicit feedback and present our findings, we will be holding a Town Hall information session on Thursday, 21 February, at 7pm, in the main hall of the club house.  This is your opportunity to learn what we have done to date, contribute to the decision making and understand its impact on you.

This will be followed by a survey to round out the information gathering process.
