On Line Directory |
We are happy to be working with Chamber Profiles again to publish our 2013-2015 Winchester Chamber Directory. By now you should have received a mailing with the 2011 Directory, a letter, an ad rate sheet (as an example / reminder) and emails about the new Directory. As in 2011, the Directory will be online and mailed to every home in Winchester.
Through the business profiles, you can tell the story behind your business, highlight unique services, and offer a discount or promotion to all the current residents, new homeowners, and
visitors of Winchester - Profiles are $295 (same price as 2011).
Also, the display ad spaces give you an opportunity to feature your business and distinguish it from others in the area. The display ad spaces are limited and almost half of the spaces from 2011 are already full - Quarter-page Display Ads start at $395.
All Members will be listed in the back of the Directory in the Member Direction Section.
To be featured in the Directory, simply email Debbie Thompson at [email protected] or
call her at 617.264.0594. She will walk you through available participation options.
The Deadline to submit all your information is May 31st (but don't wait that long as it will likely fill up as it did in 2011) ____________________________

Chamber of Commerce: Member Spotlight Bob Driscoll - Salter HealthcareThe Salter family has been proud to own and operate Aberjona, Winchester and Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers for over five decades. Today, each of our Centers feature state-of-the-art, post-acute units that offer skilled nursing and rehabilitation therapy to patients who have had knee, hip or other joint replacements or have other significant medical issues and will be returning home. In 2012, over 2,000 patients were admitted at our three healthcare centers. With over 80 rehabilitation therapists on our staff, each center is able to provide personalized, consistent, rehabilitative care and customized therapy regimens tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. Salter Healthcare's success can be tied directly to the amazing people who work at our centers. Many of our team members have worked at one of our three centers for 15 years or more. Their hard work, dedication and devotion to the patients and residents we have served over the years has been outstanding. It is the work of our team members that has allowed us to be one of the first Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers in the area to utilize electronic medical records. Our system allows a physician 24/7 access to a patient's records and medical history. The ease of access to patient information provides the physician with a complete picture of the care being delivered by our team to his or her patient. In keeping with the times, Salter Healthcare has built its own virtual care communication station - a telepresence medical cart that allows a physician or other clinician to view and speak directly with the patient and the nurse without the patient having to leave the comfort of their room. The physician can listen to lung sounds, read an EKG or view any area of the patient with a microscope. By utilizing the telepresence medical cart's features, clinicians are able to assess whether or not a patient needs to be seen in the Emergency Room. Since establishing our business in the 1950's, the Salter family has recognized the importance of giving back to the community. Over the years our commitment to community service and support has included participating in sponsorships for Winchester Hospital, Winchester Community Music School, Winchester High School, Rotary Club, and many other local programs and events. Winchester Town Day is one such event to which Salter Healthcare has donated food, labor and materials, to help make this local celebration the success that it has become. We only wish we could guarantee nice weather every year for this enjoyable community event. In addition to adjusting to the many changes that have taken place in health care over the last decade, Salter Healthcare recognizes the continuing need to provide high quality, long-term care services to our residents. Our team members, who work tirelessly on our long-term care units, build relationships not only with our residents but also with their families. Our family nights are filled with staff, residents and families all sharing a little bit of themselves with each other. It is these bonds that transcend their many different backgrounds and keep the focus on providing heartfelt, high quality care to each and every one of our residents. Salter Healthcare continues to monitor the many changes taking place in health care, especially those changes that relate to Medicare. In the coming year, those individuals who will be accessing their Medicare benefits will have to navigate a much different system than exists today. However, even as the system changes, always keep in mind the Medicare system allows individuals to choose their own health care team. We are hoping that should the need arise, patients will choose Salter Healthcare. Robert Driscoll, COO of Salter HealthCare

Member Perspective ~ Patrick Quinn Puffer Insurance Agency
As a resident of Winchester, I firmly believe in the importance of local business and the power of continued longevity. Puffer Insurance has been in business in Winchester for almost 80 years and is a well-recognized name within the community. In March of 2010, Puffer merged with my agency, Quinn
Group Insurance, in order to strengthen their insurance offerings and bring commercial expertise to the agency. Ever since, we have been specializing in Commercial Insurance, Commercial Bonds, Personal Insurance, Group Health Insurance, and Life Insurance.
Our market share and ability to specialize coverage for the needs of business and individuals alike separate us from most other agents. Everyone at the Quinn Group takes their role as a trusted insurance advisor very seriously and takes great pride in providing a blend of professional expertise and personalized service that is uniquely our own.
Though insurance is increasingly treated like a commodity and continues to become readily available from internet and mass retailers, I believe that dealing with a local business is an invaluable resource that cannot be discounted. To that end, I joined the Winchester Chamber of Commerce. As a board member, I have had the privilege to help promote the business environment in Winchester and have seen firsthand the impact the Chamber has on the community. The dedication and devotion of the Chamber members and employees is inspiring to see, and has furthered my own resolve that local business is not only a cause worth fighting for, it is a fight that can and will be won.
