President's Message
November is when elections become history and big money companies finish sponsoring campaigns. It feels good to get back to business as usual. We have a diverse and vibrant group of small businesses in Winchester and surrounding
communities. These kinds of businesses are the backbone of communities across America providing jobs and economic growth. However, all businesses require local customers and with the growth of the digital age and the big box store many Main Street shops and services are no longer sustainable.
That's where the Chamber of Commerce comes into play. For 37 years Winchester business owners, managers, and employees have gathered together at meetings and events to promote local business. Members have worked diligently with the Town Manager, Board of Selectman, Planning Board, and Town Meeting, to assure that local business concerns are represented at the table with decision makers.
Business networking, shop local campaigns, and downtown beautification programs are ongoing. It is by joining together under a community wide banner that our voices are heard loud and clear. This is democracy at its best when individuals can truly impact the quality of life and business in our neighborhoods.
The Chamber of Commerce is not a building or a person, but a collaboration of all members in the business community who choose to support a strong voice for the future of economic vitality in Winchester. This Thanksgiving let us celebrate the special place that is Winchester and all the families, institutions, non-profits, and businesses that bring us together.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
It has been a very busy and hopefully productive fall for all of you who belong to the Chamber. Our main goal is for you to make new connections, increase your business and to be kept up to date on town policies and regulations that hopefully make the center area more vital and a better place to do business. This month alone we have seen MAJOR changes that will allow your employees to have free parking permits which should open up many spots for customers. This has saved each of you significant dollars.
We have hosted a speed networking event for women which about 50 of you took advantage of and gave you new leads for your business. We held a luncheon at Lucia's for members - new and old - so that you could socialize and make new friends and perhaps increase your network.
Please check the website daily and feel free to call me with your concerns or suggestions
Cathy Alexander
Executive Director, Winchester Chamber of Commerce
