Dear KWoods Community,

We wanted to send you a positive update as you start your weekend!

We have received a lease from Pinckney Schools that we are currently reviewing. The board will be scheduling another meeting for most likely next week to finalize the lease to send back to Pinckney. We will notify you when that meeting is scheduled!

We have also been getting a lot of positive buzz from the recent news stories from the Livingston Daily and WHMI about our deal with Pinckney (if you haven't seen them yet, click here and here), which has created quite a few interested parents contacting us. However, numbers are still a concern to us and the board, so we encourage you to keep contacting those who you know (or even kind of know!) about the school. We will continue to host shadow days during Project Term and Mrs. Marcum is available to make appointments and give tours!

As part of our agreement with Pinckney Schools, we have agreed not to actively market within their district boundaries. If you have a lawn sign up and are within Pinckney school district boundaries, we would appreciate you taking it down. However, we will have Proud KWoods Family yard signs to replace your Now Enrolling yard signs in next week. We will also have Now Enrolling signs for those of you outside Pinckney School District boundaries.

Thank you again for all of your support!

Markus Muennix

KWHS Principal

Senior Exhibition Night

This coming Tuesday night, June 3rd, 2014, the entire  KWoods community is invited to the Senior Exhibition Presentation Night.

Senior Exhibition Presentation Night is a showcase of Senior research projects.  Our Seniors spent months delving into one, unanswerable question in order to try to find a possible answer.  A wide variety of topics are on deck.  A few of the topics include:  "Taking Back Our Health from Modified Foods,"  "The Effects of Social Networking," "The Power of Graffiti,"  "Bringing Back Detroit,"  "Happiness," and  "The Benefits of ADHD."

Seniors are encouraged to bring friends and family, and they will accrue bonus points depending on the number of people in their audience.  A question and answer period will be provided for all presentations, so be prepared to ask the tough questions.

The evening begins at 4:30 pm and continues until 9:15 pm, but you may come and go as you please.

BRING ONE! Campaign

As you have heard in recent days, we are in recruitment mode with the goal of convincing our board that our families are dedicated to Kensington Woods! Not only do we need families to reenroll, but we also need new enrollment!

By increasing our enrollment, we show our board that not only our current students and families are dedicated to KWoods, but so are new students! And we all know that our best students come from word of mouth! Although it feels like we are the right size right now, we actually have room to grow, especially with our move to Pinckney. By increasing our enrollment we can offer more programs and potentially have smaller class sizes due to economies of scale.

To do this we are starting our BRING ONE CAMPAIGN where we are asking every student at KWoods to try to BRING ONE friend, family member or neighbor to enroll at KWoods! Here's how you can help!

SHADOW DAYS
We will continue hosting individual Shadow Days during Project Term! Call the Main Office at 517-545-0828 or email  info@kwoods.org to schedule.
