We Need You to Bring One!

As you have heard in recent days, we are in recruitment mode with the goal of convincing our board that our families are dedicated to Kensington Woods! Not only do we need families to reenroll, but we also need new enrollment!

By increasing our enrollment, we show our board that not only our current students and families are dedicated to KWoods, but so are new students! And we all know that our best students come from word of mouth! Although it feels like we are the right size right now, we actually have room to grow, especially with our move to Pinckney. By increasing our enrollment we can offer more programs and potentially have smaller class sizes due to economies of scale.

To do this we are starting our BRING ONE CAMPAIGN where we are asking every student at KWoods to try to BRING ONE friend, family member or neighbor to enroll at KWoods! Here's how you can help!

BRING A FRIEND DAY
WEDNESDAY, MAY 28
Bring a friend, neighbor or family member! Pizza lunch will be provided.

There will be an optional informational meeting from 3-3:30pm for parents.
RSVP by calling the Main Office at 517-545-0828 or emailing [email protected].

SHADOW DAYS
We will continue hosting individual Shadow Days during Project Term! Call the Main Office at 517-545-0828 or email [email protected] to schedule.

SPREAD THE WORD
Share the word about the school through by talking to friends, family and neighbors. Don't forget about email, Facebook, Twitter, Vine and Instagram! Pick up informational materials to share in the Main Office.

All students who have a friend enroll earn themselves and their friend a free piece of KWoods swag!

Recruitment Strategy Meeting

We will be having our next recruitment strategy meeting for parents AND students on Wednesday evening from 7-8pm. Come find out how you can help us increase our enrollment and share your ideas!

A few things we are working on:

  • We are ordering more yard signs, but in the meantime, if you still have your sign from last year, please feel free to put it up in your yard!
  • Share our enrollment information from our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages (and follow us if you are not already!) Links on the right. You can also pick up hard copies of items to share in the Main Office.
  • Know of businesses that would help spread the word? Pick up some posters, fliers, informational books and parent cards to share with them from the Main Office
  • Students will be working on creating videos for social media to reflect the KWoods Difference this week!
  • Talk, talk, talk, talk! Tell anyone you know about KWoods - even if they don't have kids! You never know who they may know!
  • We also have a few other things in the works!

Graduation News

This year's graduation is Friday, June 6th at 5:30 pm.  It will be held at Whitmore Lake High School, 7430 Whitmore Lake Rd, Whitmore Lake, MI 48189.  If you need to Google or Mapquest directions, make sure you put down the exact address and NOT the words "Whitmore Lake High School" as it will direct you to the old high school!  Please feel free to invite as many people as you would like.

Next week, Mrs. Marcum will be starting to meet with Seniors individually for their final transcript review.  Once the review is completed, a letter will be mailed to you to inform you if your son/daughter is on track or not for graduation.  These individual meetings took place in the beginning of the school year as well as the beginning of the 2nd semester, so this will be the 3rd letter that you should have received.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Marcum.

No Make-up Snow Days!

Boxtops, Labels for Education and Tyson Rewards

Don't forget to keep collecting and turning in your Boxtops, Labels for Education and Tyson Rewards! KWoods can reap the rewards from the labels ALL YEAR LONG!

Students Staying After School
Parents, please note that building hours are 7:00-3:30pm. Any students staying after past 3:15 should be pre-arranging to stay after with a teacher and should stay with that teacher until they are picked up. We put these procedures in place to make sure all students are safe and supervised when staying after school.

Coat Room and Lockers

All lockers should be regularly cleaned out. Students should also not leave any objects on top of the lockers or in the coat room. Personal belongings left on top of lockers and in the coat room will be collected and placed in the lost and found to be eventually donated at the end of each week. Please check with your child to make sure they are regularly cleaning out their locker and not leaving any belongings in the coat room. Thank you!
