Any local business/restaurant can offer specials during conventions and sporting events, including the NYSPHSAA Wrestling Championships February 26-27.   As an example, any patron that comes into your business with a wrestling ticket receives a complimentary appetizer, OR any patron that comes in with a school wrestling shirt receives 10% off their purchase.  Click this link to start following.

Take advantage of this free opportunity to promote your business, get your name out there, and drive business directly to you by tweeting your offer.  Hotel partners can tweet to any of the teams staying with them as well as advertising weekend room specials.  If you have questions, do not hesitate to reach out to Deb Goedeke, Convention Services / Sporting Tournament Manager at 518.434.1217 x100 or via email

Calling all Bethlehem Firehouse Chefs!

The 6th Annual Firehouse Chili Cookoff will be held Saturday, February 6 from 2-5pm in Troy at Brown's Revolution Hall.  This competition, exclusively for firehouse chefs, celebrates the delights of firehouse chili and honors the hardworking firefighters who serve and protect us all.  The $10 general admission gets you delicious samples from the many participating firehouses.  Proceeds from the $10 general door admission will be shared between The Burn Center and the Fireman's Home (last year's donation was $3,700!).  Join us to eat for a worthwhile cause!
Guess who's turning 40?  The Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau!  To celebrate, we've compiled a list of the best of Albany County - from favorite landmarks to notable festivals, and much more - The Albany Top 40.  No list could be complete without input from the community of residents, travelers, organizations, businesses, and everyone else who loves Albany County.  We're asking our social media fans and followers to contribute to our list by sharing their own photos, comments, and personal memories of the list items using #AlbanyTop40 and commenting on Discover Albany Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts for a chance to win the weekly prize - an Albany Top 40 photo book!  We need YOUR help - here's what you can do: 1) spread the word about the #AlbanyTop40 campaign within your network; 2) share our #AlbanyTop40 posts on your organizational or personal social media accounts; and 3) contribute to the weekly #AlbanyTop40 on social media by commenting and sharing photos or memories.
