Town of Bethlehem Community Cleanup will take place Saturday, September 19.
Volunteers will meet at Town Hall, 445 Delaware Avenue, Delmar at 9:00 am for instructions and safety guidance, then head out to the to the chosen destination to clean up roadside or park debris. Kids under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Event will be canceled in the case of rain. Wear slacks, long sleeve shirts, and appropriate footwear and bring water to drink. Bethlehem Historical Association begins their new program year with a talk by New York State Archaeologist Dr. Christina Rieth. Dr. Rieth will speak about Twenty-first Century Archaeology in New York State. Join us on Thursday evening September 17 at 7 PM at the Cedar Hill Schoolhouse, 1003 River Road, Selkirk. AROUND THE REGION...
31st Annual Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend At last year's Traffic Safety Event, 97 percent of car seats that were checked were not installed correctly. We were able fix a record number of car seats and we would love to break that record this year. The Traffic Safety Show is set for this weekend at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, September 19th from 10 am - 9:30 pm and Sunday, September 20th from 11am - 6 pm. There will also be a large scale car seat checkup event in the overflow lot on the Western Avenue side of Crossgates Mall on Saturday from 11am to 2 pm to coincide with the national observance of "Seat Check Saturday," sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The focus this weekend is to teach everyone about child passenger safety and traffic safety with emphasis on the dangers of aggressive driving, STOP DWI and more. The event is sponsored by the Albany County Department of Public Works-Traffic Safety Education Program.
