    BETHLEHEM BUSINESS TO BUSINESS

The Delaware Avenue Improvement Group (DAIG)'s Business To Business Program  encourages and assists Delaware Avenue businesses in utilizing local Bethlehem businesses when undertaking improvements. The type of projects that businesses will likely be undertaking include painting, signage, landscaping, installing benches, power washing, and more.

A fine example of this beautification is the landscaping facelift completed by Policy Research Associates at 345 Delaware Avenue in Delmar.  New plantings were added front, back and side including planting a couple of new trees with a nice river birch right by the sidewalk on the Delaware side.  See the before (left side) and after (right) photos.

For details on the program and a list of local businesses offering discounts, download the brochure or contact the Chamber at 439-0512.  This initiative is also available to other businesses around town.  Help make Bethlehem shine!

AROUND THE REGION...

albany devils The Capital Region has rich hockey traditions and ones that were estab-
lished, remarkably, without a National Hockey League franchise. At the heart of that tradition is the 25-year relationship with the American Hockey League. The Capital District Islanders set the foundation in 1990 and transitioned to the Albany River Rats for 17 years. The Albany Devils arrived in 2010 to preserve AHL hockey and they are now entering their sixth season at Times Union Center.  As some of you may know, the American Hockey League is currently going through a westward expansion and many cities in the Northeast have lost or are on the verge of losing their hometown teams. Cities like Glens Falls, Manchester, NH and Worcester, MA have each seen their teams relocate to California. Soon these cities could lure franchises to fill the vacancies and with good reason. The Devils generate an economic impact of more than $17.1 million in a season to the region.
The Albany Devils' contributions extend far beyond the confines of the Times Union Center and downtown Albany. For these reasons, it is vital we continue to grow the area's support for professional hockey and sustain that long-standing tradition. County Executive, Dan McCoy, and Mayor Kathy Sheehan invite you to attend a complimentary Albany Slap-Shot Breakfast Meeting on Wednesday, July 22 at 8 a.m. at the Times Union Center to discuss actions to better support the Devils and in return, keeping the Devils home-based in Albany will enhance the quality of life for the people of the Capital Region. Please RSVP RIGHT AWAY by sending a quick email to Bob Belber

Solarize Albany invites you to their Kickoff on Thursday July 9, 6:30-8:00 PM at The Linda, WAMC Performing Arts Studio, 339 Central Ave, Albany. Join other Albany County residents in bringing low cost solar energy into our community. Celebrate the start of the 2015 community solar campaign. Light refreshments to be served.
