MICROENTERPRISE GRANT  
Applications Available Online

The Town of Bethlehem was successful in its application to the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal for the creation of a Microenterprise Grant Program.  The Town will receive $200,000 to provide grants to eligible Microenterprises, emerging, and existing businesses that want to locate in or expand within the Town of Bethlehem.  It is anticipated that a minimum of ten (10) businesses will be assisted with the awarded grant funds.  Grant awards will range from $5,000 to $35,000 and can be used to purchase inventory, machinery, equipment, furniture, fixtures and to meet working capital needs. 
Businesses who are interested in learning more about the Microenterprise Grant Program and the application process but were unable to attend the information sessions, may view the Microenterprise Grant Presentation.

ShopRite Supermarket in Slingerlands will host "ShopRite Supports our Veterans BBQ" on Saturday, June 6 from 11am-3pm. Fun for the whole family!  A BBQ with a variety of food and ALL PROCEEDS go to ShopRite's Veterans Foundation. Games, Farmers Market, Kids Crafts, LIVE Music Plus Much Much More, including an educational seminar titled Understanding Beef from 11am-2pm with Chef Melissa Sheridan.  This 3-hour free seminar will showcase: Beef 101, Where your Beef Comes From, Health Aspects of Beef, Economical Cuts of beef and the Best Ways to Grill up and Cook Various Cuts of Beef.

The Delmar Kiwanis Foundation will hold its 2015 Annual Golf Outing for Charity on Monday, August 3 at the Normanside Country Club. Proceeds for this event benefit the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center and local Kiwanis projects for children. The Bethlehem Garden Club's Annual Garden Tour will be held on Wednesday, June 10 from 4-8pm.  The Tour highlights local gardens and provides the opportunity for interested gardeners to see some unique and beautiful areas not usually open to the public.  Your ticket also gives you a discount for dining that evening in local restaurants. The Garden Club also hosts a Plant Sale on Wednesday, June 10 from 3-7pm at Delmar Presbyterian Church, 585 Delaware Ave. Delmar. Find some interesting and beautiful perennials available for sale. Garden Club members are available to answer questions and help in your selection of home-grown and nursery-grown perennials. Raffle tickets are also available at the plant sale. Winners may walk away with one of several fabulous prizes, including the opportunity to have a crew of seasoned Bethlehem Garden Club Members come to your home and work on your garden! There is no ticket required to attend the Plant Sale. Proceeds go toward our beautification efforts within the Town of Bethlehem, as well as to provide support for our Science Education grant. The Town of Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is looking to fill a Board position. The IDA is an independent agency authorized under state law, and its board members serve without compensation and at the pleasure of the Town Board. The Bethlehem Senior Chorus,
celebrating their 10th year, will hold their
Spring Concert on Wednesday, June 10 from 1-2pm at Town Hall. Event is free and open to the public.

Bethlehem Historical Association's next history hike is Saturday June 13, features the historic hamlet of Slingerlands. We gather at the Fire Fighters Memorial Park on New Scotland Road at 9:30am. On Sunday, June 14 from 2-4pm, the Bethlehem Historical Association is having their annual Ice Cream Social to celebrate the opening of their summer season. Exhibits include Circa 1965,which features photographs and memorabilia from around town during the 1960s as well as colorful posters from the Slingerlands Players. Free and open to the public. The Bethlehem Historical Association is located in the historic Cedar Hill Schoolhouse, 1003 River Road, Selkirk.

The  Town of Bethlehem will host several Community Town Hall Meetings in the coming months.  Community town hall meetings are an opportunity for citizens to speak directly with town-wide officials and discuss town issues and specific community concerns. They are scheduled in neighborhood centers throughout the town. An agenda is set around initiatives and concerns specific to the area. Citizens are also welcome to provide open comment on other issues of concern to town residents and leaders.  Come to share your views with Supervisor Clarkson, Town Board members, and other town officials. Community Town Halls scheduled for this Spring:

The Delmar Farmers Market is open Saturdays, 9am-1pm for the season.  Visit over 50 vendors for farm fresh produce, crafts and food stands. At the Bethlehem Middle School, 332 Kenwood Avenue every Saturday through December.
