Thursday we cut the ribbon for the new covered patio at Garden Bistro 24 in Slingerlands. This new outdoor "room" offers a space for private parties of up to 60 people day or night.  Owners John Grizzaffi and Charles Grizzaffi, center, are joined by family, friends and representatives from the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce.  Business representatives from Glenmont Self Storage, Realty USA Delmar, Albany Devils and A-1 Merchant Solutions were in attendance.  See Photo Gallery.

MICROENTERPRISE GRANT  
Applications Available Online

The Town of Bethlehem was successful in its application to the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal for the creation of a Microenterprise Grant Program.  The Town will receive $200,000 to provide grants to eligible Microenterprises, emerging, and existing businesses that want to locate in or expand within the Town of Bethlehem.  It is anticipated that a minimum of ten (10) businesses will be assisted with the awarded grant funds.  Grant awards will range from $5,000 to $35,000 and can be used to purchase inventory, machinery, equipment, furniture, fixtures and to meet working capital needs. 
Businesses who are interested in learning more about the Microenterprise Grant Program and the application process but were unable to attend the information sessions, may view the Microenterprise Grant Presentation.

The Town of Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is looking to fill a Board position. The IDA is an independent agency authorized under state law, and its board members serve without compensation and at the pleasure of the Town Board. Members must be Town residents and should have or develop general knowledge of Bethlehem's development patterns and economic development goals. ISC Audubon is hosting a Fly Fishing Demonstration at Colonial Acres Golf & Learning Center.   Everything you ever wanted to know about Fly Fishing is being presented by the Capital District Fly Fishers club on Saturday, May 30 from 9 until 1:00 pm. Bethlehem Historical Association Summer Exhibit (June 14 through August 30) and    

Opening Day Ice Cream Social (Sunday, June 14 from 2 to 4 PM). The Bethlehem Historical Association's Cedar Hill Schoolhouse museum highlights a variety of exhibits this summer.  Circa 1965 looks back at the Town of Bethlehem during the era in which the organization was founded.  It features photographs and memorabilia from around town as well as colorful posters from the Slingerlands Players. One Hundred Years Difference: Clothing from 1865 to 1965 explores 100 years of changing clothing styles.  The adjacent Toll Gate building features What's All the Buzz, a look at bee keeping.All are welcome to join us Opening Day, Sunday June 14 from 2 to 4 pm, for a free Ice Cream Social.  Make your own sundae courtesy of Stewarts Shops.

The  Town of Bethlehem will host several Community Town Hall Meetings in the coming months.  Community town hall meetings are an opportunity for citizens to speak directly with town-wide officials and discuss town issues and specific community concerns. They are scheduled in neighborhood centers throughout the town. An agenda is set around initiatives and concerns specific to the area. Citizens are also welcome to provide open comment on other issues of concern to town residents and leaders.  Come to share your views with Supervisor Clarkson, Town Board members, and other town officials. Community Town Halls scheduled for this Spring:
