We celebrated the Grand Opening of the new Enchanted Garden Florist at 243 Delaware Avenue in Delmar. Owners Clorece Weir and Scott Wright (center) were welcomed by representatives from the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce, Chamber Board of Directors and fellow business owners, to celebrate the new venture.  See Photo Gallery here.

When consumers know that a small business is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are 44% more likely to think favorably of it and 63% more likely to purchase goods or services from the company in the future.

Most consumers (59%) think that being active in the local chamber of commerce is an effective business strategy overall. It is 29% more effective, however, for communicating to consumers that a company uses good business practices and 26% more effective for communicating that a business is reputable.

Our Towne Bethlehem Turkey Trot 2014 -

Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited (BOU) is sponsoring "Talking with your Teen", an evening of education on statistics, health impact, and how to talk with your teen about drugs. The event will be held on November 13, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Bethlehem Central Middle School auditorium. Parents/guardians of middle school and high school students, teachers, and community members are highly encouraged to attend this informative evening.In its second year, the event focuses on providing tips to communicate with your 'tween and teen - from the middle school years onward. The annual dinner theatre event will be held at the Normanside Country Club in Delmar and includes cocktail hour featuring a cash bar, a three-course dinner and the theatrical performance. Clean out your closets and bring your used clothes and other textiles to the Delmar Farmers Market (inside the Middle School cafeteria). Celebrate America Recycles Day and help benefit a great cause-proceeds will benefit Bethlehem Central School District environmental programs!   Bethlehem joins communities across the state in kicking off the "Clothes the Loop NY" textile recovery campaign on November 15!  Acceptable items include:  ALL types of clothing, Fabric, and household textiles (tablecloths, sheets, blankets, pillows, curtains, towels), and stuffed animals, Belts, hats, gloves, purses, bags, backpacks, footwear, All items must be clean and dry, but it is okay if they are worn, torn, ripped, stained or damaged!
Unacceptable items: Do not include mattresses, loose foam stuffing, toys and household goods. No wet or mildewy textiles. No smelly items. No items contaminated with oil, paint or hazardous materials. For more info contact Dan Rain, Recycling Coordinator 518-439-4955 x1510.
 
The Bethlehem Community Fund will hold a Concert and Dance Party on Saturday, November 22 from 7:30-10:30 pm at the Cyprus Shrine Center, 27 Hannay Lane, Glenmont. The event will feature live music by GB-five. Proceeds will benefit the BCF which supports neighbors in need in Bethlehem. For more details, see the flyer

"Bethlehem Scenes" is the theme of an exhibit of artwork now being shown at the Bethlehem Town Hall. The works are by nineteen local artists who are members of the Bethlehem Art Association. The show includes twenty-three pictures of scenes from the Bethlehem area. On display is an array of oil paintings, watercolors, pastel paintings, drawings and photographs of scenes that will be familiar to visitors to the exhibit. The exhibit will run until December 1.

The Stram Center for Integrative Medicine hosts a Lyme Disease Support Group the second Tuesday of every month at our Delmar location.  Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 11 from 6-7pm. FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE WELCOME.

The Delmar Farmer's Market at the Bethlehem Middle School on Kenwood Avenue in Delmar is open every Saturday from 9am-1pm through December.  For information visit their site at delmarmarket.org. We have moved indoors to the Middle School cafeteria.

Tuesdays Delmar Farmer's Market
located at the First United Methodist Church on Kenwood Ave every Tuesday from 2:30-6pm (May through November) will be offering fresh fruits and vegetables, hot off the grill chicken by Geurtze Bar-B-Q, fresh artisan breads, homemade desserts, herbs and perennials for sale, local honey, and lots more.
