Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Care Reform News
Many of you will have questions regarding your insurance and what plans are available to you and your employees. Since October is now here and the Exchange is now open for business, we are working diligently to get that information to you in a timely manner. The Chamber will be working with you in both ON and Off Exchange plans. Our current carriers will be offering us plans Off Exchange which may vary from those on the exchange. We have received rates and plans from the carriers and expect to have them available to you by November 1. There are many choices to make and this can be a confusing process. We ask that you look over all plans In and Off the Exchange before making your decision. We will be hosting a Breakfast Seminar on Thursday, Nov 21 at 8 am at the Bethlehem Public Library and encourage you to attend this meeting with any questions you have. We will explain the differences between the Metal Tier levels and Standard and Non-standard plans. It is very important that when looking over the plans that you make sure that your doctors participate with the plan and that if you have any prescriptions you check them against the Plan's Drug Formulary, as these may have changed. Please be patient as we all work through these new insurance options. As your Chamber our efforts to find you the most affordable options for insurance is our first priority.
Employers can check out the new exchange website at www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov for additional information on the ACA. If you have questions, please feel free to call Monique at the Chamber office or email your questions to her and she will get the answers you need.
