 Discovery Art
momentum

This summer the Tsao Gallery will once again be turned into a dynamic, hands-on discovery center and exhibit space. MOMENTUM: ART IN ACTION \ CREATIVITY IN MOTION will investigate physical  and social momentum-flying creatures, bikes, roller coasters, shared ideas, collaborative art, mobiles, Rube Goldberg machines, spirographs, and more.

Come play at our Opening Reception Saturday, July 13, 3:00-5:00 pm!

Artists and community members are once again invited to be part of our collaborative art installation, "Off The Grid."  Pick up a free Grid Kit and recreate one section of an oversized mystery image that will come into focus and transform into a unique work of art during the course of the show.

You can also contribute to "Nuts and Bolts," a large ever-expanding image map in the gallery that will document the "momentum" of shared ideas over time.

Please join us and take part in the creative explosion that happens when Art meets Science!

Matthew Grasso's 7 String Guitar Celebration

Matt Grasso
This year's program will include a quintet of 7-string guitars performing a new work exploring the Apocalypse of 2012 by Matthew Grasso, accented by visual art of Colette Walker. Timothy Nutter will add original dance choreography to the music of Elgar and Ravel, arranged for 7-string guitar. Young guitar wizard Jon Mendle will blow your socks off with his 11-string arch guitar with the music of Bach and Dowland. We will also experience the mystical sounds of North Indian music performed on a 25-string raga guitar and tabla (Indian percussion) with Parteek Bansal. Donations gratefully accepted.
