Gourd workshop with outstanding gourd artist John Hernandez planned for May 16

OMA is excited to announce that John Hernandez is graciously providing a gourd workshop which will teach participants how to transform a gourd into a work of art. Participants will start with a clean and cut hardshell gourd bowl and learn how to stain the gourd and create a hand-coiled neck with pine needles. All materials and tools will be provided for use during the workshop.
The gourd workshop will be held on May 16 from 10:00am-4:00pm with a break for lunch. Lunch is on your own. The workshop will take place in Science Museum Oklahoma - Oklahoma Museum Network classroom. Registration is $65 for OMA members and $75 for non-members. Space is limited. Participants will take home their finished art gourds at the conclusion of the workshop. Proceeds from the workshop benefit the Oklahoma Museums Association. |
