The Town of Los Gatos Volunteer Opportunity |
Los Gatos is seeking town residents (who live in the incorporated areas of Los Gatos) interested in serving on an Ad Hoc Citizen Committee to evaluate and provide recommendations to the Town Council regarding potential revenue sources that require voter approval (i.e., utility taxes and an increase to the Town's Transient Occupancy Tax)
Candidates must be present for interviews with the Town Council on October 20, 2015. The Council will appoint three (3) resident representatives to serve with two (2) Council Members on a new Ad Hoc Citizen Committee. The 5-member Committee will meet from November 2015 through August 2016 to work with staff to study the issues, seek public input (including a community survey), and report back to Council with recommendations and drafted ballot language, if any. The public meetings will be held in the Town Council Chambers beginning in November.
Applications are available in the Town Clerk's Office at 110 E. Main ST. or can be downloaded from the Town website at http://www.losgatosca.gov/385/Application-Process.

September 25th, 6:30pm The Town of Los Gatos & Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad invites you to Screen on the Green at Oak Meadow Park. Please join us at Oak Meadow Park for an evening of family fun. The featured film, Frozen, will be shown on a 25' inflatable movie screen. Children's activities will begin at 6:30 p.m., and showtime is 7:30 p.m. For your enjoyment during the film, bring flashlights, blankets and low back chairs.

September 26th, 10am - 2pm Los Gatos CASA (Community Against Substance Abuse) is having a Prescription Drop-Off event. Turn in your unused or expired medication for sage disposal. Bring glass thermometers to exchange for a digital solar thermometer. They are also accepting household batteries, cell phones, and eyeglasses for recycling. This event takes place at the LG Parks & Public Works Service Center at 41 Miles Ave, Los Gatos.
September 26th, 10am - 4pm Ca�ada College Fashion Department is hosting its annual "Artistry in Fashion" non-profit event. This shopping extravaganza features dozens of designers selling clothing, jewelry, and other fashions. On-site food vendors and free parking are available. October 9th - 11th Camp Erin is a FREE, weekend long bereavement camp for children and teens ages 6-17 who are grieving the death of someone close to them. Camp Erin combines traditional, fun camp activities - like archery, swimming, ropes courses, and arts & crafts - with grief education and emotional support. Camp Erin makes a profound difference in the lives of grieving children by increasing levels of hope, enhancing self-esteem, and by providing positive coping skills.
