Town Seeks Public Private Partnership to Construct a Parking Garage |
The Town of Los Gatos has released a Request for Information (RFI) for firms to provide information and express interest in participating in a public private partnership to construct a mixed use building with public parking in Downtown Los Gatos. The Town's goal is to augment the parking supply Downtown while meeting low income housing needs and providing an opportunity for additional retail space.
The Town Council appointed an Ad Hoc Committee made up of two Council members to explore this concept. The project is the result of the work of the Ad Hoc Committee, and the full Council supported the Request for Information to obtain responses from developers and other businesses. The project would incorporate several Town-owned parcels on West Main Street between Santa Cruz Avenue and Lyndon Avenue. The parcels currently provide parking as surface lots and are ideally situated for expanded parking.
The results of the RFI will help the Council explore options for the site. The public has had the opportunity to participate in the Ad Hoc Committee meetings and public engagement will continue as the prospective project develops.
Additional information about the RFI is available on the Town website at:
An online conference for interested companies is scheduled for September 9 at 11 am.
