The Transportation Policy Board Recommended Approval of the Special Needs Transportation Projects Contingency List.
The contingency list is comprised of projects that were part of a January recommendation for special needs projects, but were unable to obtain funding. This list is in place should any funding become available prior to the next grant cycle. It includes 12 projects, which are seeking a total of $3.2 million. Watch the discussion.

The Transportation Policy Board discussed the Transportation 2040 Update.
In preparation for the Board's July decision point, the discussion covered the core elements of the plan update: Prioritization, State of Good Repair, and the Financial Strategy. Due to the recession, revenues are anticipated to be lower than expected when Transportation 2040 was adopted in 2010. Concurrently, the total cost of the plan has gone up due to changes in project costs and more refined preservation and maintenance costs. Staff presented several ways that may help inform how to balance these cost changes when Transportation 2040 is updated in 2014. Next month, the Decision Point B actions will include the recommendation from the Transportation Policy Board (7/11) and the final direction from the Executive Board (7/25) for staff to proceed with the analysis of a range of investment scenarios.
