We hope you are enjoying your summer so far! Ignite had perfect weather for two of our recent events, the Members-Only Sunday Funday at Iverson Park and the Adopt-A-Highway cleanup project. Thanks to everyone who attended these events!

There's no slowing down for Ignite as we have lots of exciting upcoming events including a Lunch, Learn, Lead (L3) with Jeff Martin from Ministry Health Care. There are also more volunteer opportunities on our calendar, so check out the sidebar in this newsletter for details.

Speaking of volunteering, see how Ignite is doing in the Volunteer Challenge, led by two members who have more than 100 hours each!

And if you aren't a member yet, our membership is now only $30 until the end of 2015!

Cheers,
Ignite Advisory Board

CanoeIt was perfect weather for the Members-Only Sunday Funday as more than 20 Ignite members took to the Little Plover River for a scenic ride with Nature Treks on July 26.

After we ended at McDill Pond, members returned to Iverson Park for a picnic and outdoor games including a few wild rounds of bag toss and volleyball. Thanks to Sconnie Crossfit for its sponsorship and we hope everyone had a great time! View Photos

How long have you lived/worked in Portage County?
I have lived in Portage County since 2010 when I moved to Point to attend UWSP and play on the volleyball team. Upon graduation (December 2014) I was fortunate to have the opportunity to accept my first full-time position at the Saint Michael's Hospital Foundation.

What do you feel is your impact on the community, either personally or professionally?
I love to be involved in the community as much as I can both through the Saint Michael's Foundation and providing services and care to those who would not otherwise be able to afford it and also in my free time as I serve on multiple community board of directors, committees and am also a big sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

What is something you hope to accomplish in the next year?
Within the next year I hope to expand on my grant-writing skills and also obtain my SCUBA certification.

What is a little-known fact about yourself?
I have a 8-month-old German shepherd puppy who is in training to become a therapy dog and a hospice dog.
